Thanks to everyone who came out to Pizza Fusion for E. Rivers Family Night. It was a huge success and it
was terrific to see so many of our newer families joining in with the fun. I appreciate your support of this
initiative and look forward to seeing you at future events in the future. Thanks, too, to Jeff Melnick, Owner
of Pizza Fusion for partnering with our school in this way.
As the first quarter of school draws to a close, teachers will invite each family to a parent/teacher conference
to discuss the progress of each student. Please be watchful for these invitations from your child’s
teacher and try to accommodate the requests into your schedule. To free up more of the teachers’ time
to hold conferences, I have cancelled Wednesday Tutorial for the next three Wednesdays. Wednesday tutorial
will resume on November 4th.

Gift Wrap Results: $10,582 goes to PTA!
Orders have been tallied, money has been counted and we want to thank everyone who participated in
this year’s Gift Wrap Fund Raiser. Our total sales were $21,164 which means $10,582 will go to our PTA!
Thank you for your continued support of one of the PTA’s largest fund raisers.

Ice Cream & Report Cards — This Friday, Oct. 16, 2.30 – 6.30pm
Please come out to Baskin Robbins at Peachtree Battle to celebrate report cards!
“Kids Only” Movie Afternoon
*BIG KIDS ONLY* is Friday, Oct. 30
We know you love Movie Afternoon. To help make it even greater,
we are doing something a bit different this time. Movie Afternoon
on 10/30 will be for 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders only!
Kids: Come eat some popcorn, hang out with your friends and
watch a movie in the E. Rivers Movie Theatre (aka, the Auditorium).
Bring your sleeping bags and get comfy! Look for the sign up
form in your blue folder this Friday. Turn in your form and money
($5) as soon as possible (i.e., Monday, the 19th) as we can only
accept the first 100 students who sign up.
Parents: Children will
enjoy popcorn, a drink, and a age-appropriate movie after school
on Friday from 2:30PM until 4:30PM. Questions Contact Cris

We need a minimum of 6 parent volunteers to help supervise, so
contact us if you’d like to help out! 
Note that the next Movie Afternoon
(11/20) will be LITTLE KIDS ONLY for K, 1st grade and 2nd
grade. To accommodate parents who have BIG kids and LITTLE
kids, both movie dates will be open to siblings of kids attending the
movie. (For example, if you have a 4th grader coming on 10/30,
your 1st grader can also attend if they want).

The Parent Portal
Beginning this year, you can keep
track of your child’s class schedule
and attendance records by accessing
the Campus Portal for Parents (CPP).
Additionally, CPP enables you to verify
and update household information,
including your e-mail address, home
address and telephone numbers. All
APS parents and/or guardians with
students in grades K-12 have access
to the tool. To receive your activation
key, please bring a picture ID to Mrs.
Banks in the technology lab.
September Box Top Update
E. Rivers had 33 students participate, collecting a
grand total of 1234 Box Tops! The amount raised
is $123.40. Congratulations to 3rd grader, Grace Ryan of Ms. Cheroff's
class, she is the top collector with 228 Box Tops and will be
having lunch with Mr. White. Thank you to all of you who participated
and keep collecting!

E. Rivers Fall Clean-Up Day Including Spreading of the Mulch
This Saturday, Oct.17th, 9am ‘til noon Our annual clean-up day is here. We would love to see our parents
and students bring their yard tools and gloves (if you have them) and help keep our school beautiful. We will
have lots of little projects for all ages including the mulch for the playgrounds. Please park along Peachtree
Battle Avenue to reserve space for the sports teams that will be using the field that day. Questions Contact

Gracias a todos los que participaron en la cena familiar en Pizza Fusion la semana pasada. Fue un evento
exitoso y me alegro ver nuevas familias. Gracias por su apoyo durante estos eventos y espero verlos a todos
en futuros eventos.
Ya que se esta terminando el primer semestre, las maestras estarán invitando a los padres a reunirse para
tener conferencias sobre el progreso de su hijo/a. Por favor este pendiente de esto y trate de programar
la reunión. Para que las maestras tengan más tiempo para tener estas conferencias, he cancelado los tres
próximos miércoles de clases de tutores por las tardes. Las clases particulares empezaran de nuevo el 4 de
noviembre.

Tardes de Película para los
Niños GRANDES solamente
La primera Tarde de Película de los Niños fue tan exitosa que tenemos
que cambiar el formato. ¡Tuvimos más de 170 niños durante
la primera!
La próxima película será el viernes, 30 de octubre, y será solo para
los NIÑOS GRANDES de los grados 3, 4 y 5 solamente. Busque el
formulario este viernes en la carpeta azul y devuélvalo con su pago
de $5.00 lo antes posible, ( el lunes, 19 de octubre).
La siguiente película será el viernes, 20 de noviembre, y será solo
para los NIÑOS PEQUEÑOS de los grados K, 1 y 2. (Para acomodar
familias que tienen niños de los dos grupos, los dos eventos están
disponibles para los hermanos. Por ejemplo, si tiene un hijo en 4to
grado viniendo el 30 de octubre, su hijo en 1er grado también podrá
asistir.)

los Padres
Comenzando este año podrán tener
acceso al horario y la información sobre
asistencia a la escuela de su hijo/a
a través del Internet. También podrán
cambiar información suya como su
dirección de e-mail, la dirección de su
hogar y el número de teléfono. Todos
los padres con hijos en APS de K-12
tendrán acceso a este programa. Para
recibir acceso, por favor visite a Mrs.
Banks en el laboratorio de computadores
y asegúrese de traer identificación
para poder recibir el número
de acceso.
Box Tops para el mes de septiembre
Tuvimos 33 niños que participaron este mes y
juntos recaudaron 1,234 Box Tops. ¡Eso quiere
decir que la escuela se gana $123.40! Felicitaciones
a Grace Ryan del 3er grado por donar 228 Box Tops y ganarse
un almuerzo con Mr. White.
Día de Limpieza de la Escuela
Este sábado, 17 de octubre, de 9.00am – 12.00pm ¡Queremos
la participación de padres y alumnos para embellecer nuestra
