FIGURA 2
INSTALLATION
Transport the machine to the place it is to be installed in and make sure that all the wheels
are firmly placed on the ground. Block the front wheels with the brakes provided (fig. 1 No.
2).
Wash machine completely in order to eliminate any dust and residue left over from
production.
To wash the machine, open it as follows:
1. Loosen the two screws that block the hopper (fig. 1 No. 7)
2. Lift the upper part of the hopper with the handle provided (fig. 1 No. 8) and block it
by using the support rod which is anchored inside the body of the machine.
3. Wash machine avoiding the electrical parts.
4. Once the cleaning is completed, screw in the two blocking screws.
Once cleaning is completed, install the anti-injury box (Fig. 2). Ensure that all the
components are safely blocked and completely closed.
Should you have bought the RULLIERA, transport it to the place it is to be installed in and
position under the unloading opening of the BETA 60, 90, 120 MV making sure that all the
wheels are firmly placed on the ground. Block all wheels with the brakes provided. The
RULLIERA must also be washed before it is used in order to remove all production residue
and dust. During washing it is not necessary to remove the protection grid, make sure not to
wet the electrical parts.
FUNCTIONING
This machine has been designed to distalk the grapes that are unloaded in bunches inside the
loading hopper. By means of a feeding screw the bunches of grapes are conveyed inside the
rotating cage where the distalking takes place. The distalking speed is set by using the
motorvariator and the handwheel provided (fig. 1 No. 4,5).
The grape stalks are eliminated through the outlet mouth (fig. 1 No. 1) whereas the grapes
are conveyed towards the other outlet opening provided (fig. 1 No. 3). If you wish to crush
the distalked grapes, place the Rulliera under the outlet mouth.
The distalked grapes are then conveyed towards the gathering mouth of a marc pump or in a
collection vat which can be applied to the machine and to the rollers (fig. 1 No. 3) to which
a self-priming pump is attached.
START UP
Important: before starting the machine, the user must ensure that there are no obstacles that
would block the normal functioning of the mechanical parts. Above all, the user should
make sure that nobody is near the mechanical parts that will be moving and, more
specifically, that there is no one near the stalk outlet opening or near the anti-injury box.
Also, check that the voltage of the engine corresponds to that of the mains.
Before starting the machine, check the oil level of the motorvariator and add oil if necessary
(never start the machine if the motovariator is without oil as this would damage the
motovariator).
To start the machine, connect it to the mains. This connection should be made by a qualified
technician, carefully avoiding to wet the plug and socket. In case the rollers are used, plug
them into the electrical panel of the machine before connecting the machine to the mains.
To activate the machine press the start button, to stop it press the red emergency button (fig.
2) Once the red button has been pressed, in order reactivate the machine, rotate the red
button in the direction indicated by the arrow.
Once the machine has been started, place the bunches of grapes inside the loading hopper
and adjust the distalking speed (fig. 1 No. 4,5 ) by using the handwheel on the
motorvariator (do not use the handwheel when the engine is off as this will damage the
handwheel). On the dial of the handwheel there is a numerical scale that indicates the
number of revolution turned by the engine. By using the handwheel, the rotation speed of
the distalking shaft and of the sieve is regulated thus allowing a more or less gentle
distalking of the grapes.
The quantity of grapes that are distalked depends on the screw feeder on the hopper; the
quantity cannot be changed by pushing the grapes through the loading opening (this
operation is useless and extremely dangerous).
In case a self-priming pump is used, apply the collection vat before starting the pump and
ensure that it is firmly in place.
Should it be necessary to intervene inside the machine (in case of blockages or if there are
objects inside the machine), procede as follows:
1. Turn off the machine and disconnect from mains.
2. Remove the object by using a tool and, if necessary, open the machine
3. Close all the parts of the machine that may have been opened and repete all the
operations described for starting the machine.
WASHING AND MAINTENANCE
Once the machine has been used and, in any case, at the end of the day, unplug the machine
and wash to eliminate any residue.
The best way to wash the machine is to open it and wash away all internal residue. About
the RULLIERA wash it from the top and from the bottom to remove all residue.
Once washed, if the machine is to remain inactive for a long time, procede as follows:
• Open the carter that protects the mechanical gear
• Grease all chains, mechanical parts, greasing points, and bearing supports
• Check the level of oil of the motorvariator
• Close all carters and the hopper making sure that the support rod has been anchored
to the internal blocking element provided.
Use natural oil to maintain the shine of the metal surface of the machine.
PROBLEMS AND POSSIBLE CAUSES
PROBLEMS
Difficulty in starting the machine
REMEDIES
Check that the machine is fed by the
correct tension. Do not use extension leads
with an insufficient section as this may
cause a fall in tension. Check the tension
of the transmission belt by means of the
register provided.
Grapes come out with the stalks
The motorvariator is too noisy
Turn off the machine and clean the sieve
Reduce the distalking speed
Check the level of oil of the motorvariator.
