HYunDAI mOTOR COmPAnY’S
Hope on Wheels program has been
helping kids fight cancer since
1998. The program is a joint effort
of Hyundai and its 800+ dealer
network. In 2010, Inova Fairfax
Hospital for Children (IFHC) became
part of Hyundai’s tremendous legacy
when IFHC was invited to submit
a proposal for a Hope Grant and
received the prestigious award. This
initial gift allowed IFHC to establish
the “Hyundai Hope Center” – a
dedicated on-site resource/activity
center to provide timely access
to information, education, and
resources to support patients and
families during their cancer journey.
Building on the Hyundai Hope
Center’s success, in 2011 Hyundai
awarded IFHC another Hope Grant
to create the “Hope at Home”
palliative care program.
The “Hope at Home” program aims
to minimize cancer’s impact on
pediatric patients and their families
by providing a home-based support
system with customized therapies for
each family.
Hyundai chose to fund these
programs because of their potential
to have a positive impact on pediatric
cancer patients and their families.
