Dan discussed the options to replace the scoreboard. The requirements for the scoreboard<br />

were given to Dactronics. The Student Council will contribute $8,000 and $15,000 will be<br />

donated from pop money. The booster club contribution has not been determined at this<br />

time. Dan will obtain this information for the next meeting.<br />

Dan discussed the spring sport athletes: Corrine Dennison – Daily Herald Girls Softball Co-<br />

Captain, Kim Ebbeson - Daily Herald Athlete of the Year, Jim Wolfsmith – Softball Coach of<br />

the Year.<br />

There will be some construction activities taking place this summer:<br />

The track will be redone.<br />

The softball field will be redone.<br />

Tennis courts – TBD<br />

The Fall 2006 sports registration packages are being prepared.<br />

On 8/1, the Upstate Eight Conference will have a website. There will link for BHS and there<br />

will be link back to the BHS school website<br />

There is a new Soccer coach – Steve Buchs.<br />

We will be sharing Millennium field this year with Streamwood & South Elgin high schools.<br />

The JV games will be held at the school and all varsity games will be at Millennium field.<br />

The UEC will go to 12 schools during the 2009/2010 school year. There will be a new school<br />

to support Neuqua Valley & Waubonsie Valley.<br />

The following banners will be installed: Regional Basketball & Softball.<br />

We will be unable to water the football field this year.<br />

The booster club article in the Daily Herald was taken out of context regarding the inequities<br />

within a school versus what a booster club can do. The policy being put in place is for major<br />

structural changes. These will need to be approved by U46.<br />

A question was raised regarding the $65 to play sports. The money goes to U46 and there<br />

maybe a change in the funding process. There will be further discussions on this for the next<br />

school year.<br />

A question was raised regarding the costs for team pictures. Why are these costs so high<br />

compared to other programs, i.e. youth sports Discussion took place regarding this topic.<br />

Further exploration will be done regarding other vendors and the options associated with<br />

these.<br />

The Kickoff dinner is being on held on 8/14. The cost is $8/person.<br />
