The meeting was called to order at 7:06 PM.<br />

The minutes from the May 9, 2006 meeting were reviewed. A motion to accept the<br />

minutes was made by Ron Herbert and seconded by Dan Palmer, and was passed<br />

unanimously.<br />

President’s Report – Len Hardy<br />

A treasurer replacement is needed for Shelley Rosas due to a family situation. Shelley will<br />

stay on until a replacement is found & trained. The By-laws state that for any executive open<br />

board position these are appointed by the current officers. If there are any potential<br />

members who would are interested, please have them contact Len.<br />

The booster club scholarship winners were William Noviski & Sophia Leo. Each student<br />

received a $1,000 scholarship. These students were selected from a panel of 5 teachers via<br />

a blind selection process.<br />

Nancy Williams is representing the golf booster club via proxy. Also, the golf club outing is<br />

being held on 6/16 at <strong>Bartlett</strong> Hills.<br />

Rick Newton is the new director of the Baseball booster club.<br />

There is a new board of directors for the Cheerleading booster club:<br />

For the July meeting we will be looking for an alternate location as both the school & <strong>Bartlett</strong><br />

library are unavailable.<br />

The 2006/2007 booster club membership forms were sent out with the general registration<br />

packages. The mass mailing that was done last year did not generate enough interest.<br />

A major fund raiser for the club will be addressed starting at the August meeting. We will be<br />

exploring group projects. There is an option of the main booster club taking over the college<br />

tuition raffle.<br />

Dan discussed the options to replace the scoreboard. The requirements for the scoreboard<br />

were given to Dactronics. The Student Council will contribute $8,000 and $15,000 will be<br />

donated from pop money. The booster club contribution has not been determined at this<br />

time. Dan will obtain this information for the next meeting.<br />

Dan discussed the spring sport athletes: Corrine Dennison – Daily Herald Girls Softball Co-<br />

Captain, Kim Ebbeson - Daily Herald Athlete of the Year, Jim Wolfsmith – Softball Coach of<br />

the Year.<br />

There will be some construction activities taking place this summer:<br />

The track will be redone.<br />

The softball field will be redone.<br />

Tennis courts – TBD<br />

The Fall 2006 sports registration packages are being prepared.<br />

On 8/1, the Upstate Eight Conference will have a website. There will link for BHS and there<br />

will be link back to the BHS school website<br />

There is a new Soccer coach – Steve Buchs.<br />

We will be sharing Millennium field this year with Streamwood & South Elgin high schools.<br />

The JV games will be held at the school and all varsity games will be at Millennium field.<br />

The UEC will go to 12 schools during the 2009/2010 school year. There will be a new school<br />

to support Neuqua Valley & Waubonsie Valley.<br />

The following banners will be installed: Regional Basketball & Softball.<br />

We will be unable to water the football field this year.<br />

The booster club article in the Daily Herald was taken out of context regarding the inequities<br />

within a school versus what a booster club can do. The policy being put in place is for major<br />

structural changes. These will need to be approved by U46.<br />

A question was raised regarding the $65 to play sports. The money goes to U46 and there<br />

maybe a change in the funding process. There will be further discussions on this for the next<br />

school year.<br />

A question was raised regarding the costs for team pictures. Why are these costs so high<br />

compared to other programs, i.e. youth sports Discussion took place regarding this topic.<br />

Further exploration will be done regarding other vendors and the options associated with<br />

these.<br />

Len indicated that the club reports will be e-mailed out to all directors.<br />

Joe stated that there will be football broadcasts for the upcoming season.<br />

The Kickoff dinner is being on held on 8/14. The cost is $8/person.<br />

The club will be conducting a marketing blitz plan to increase membership by 25%.<br />

Football will be holding a fundraising outing and inviting 100 local businesses.<br />

There are activities that the club needs to perform for the concession stand at<br />

Millennium field: concession stand keys, popcorn machine, cooler, and verifying that<br />

the electrical work was completed.<br />

A question was raised regarding the storage between 3 schools and how this will be<br />

handled There will be discussions with the other schools regarding this.<br />

There will be new menus items for the upcoming season.<br />

There will be meeting with the coach to review his wish list.<br />

A question was raised on the status of the original football uniforms: where are these<br />

and can they be sold as a fund raiser activity Dan will talk to the coach regarding<br />

this.<br />

Volley - Boys– Jean Theobald<br />

Jean has some deposits & receipts that need to be submitted. They have been<br />

keeping a running total of all expenses.<br />

Volley ball has a concession key to return. They also purchased their own cash box.<br />

Dance – Diana Kaufman (Proxy)<br />

Diana will be stepping down after 4 years with the club.<br />

A new board of directors has been elected.<br />

A dance workshop will be held on 6/23. Walk-ins are being taken for that day. It will be<br />

for 2 nd – 8 th graders that will be held from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm., followed by a performance.<br />

Len stated that we are still waiting for the invoice for the repair of the cooler.<br />

There was no new business discussed.<br />

Joe Paladino motioned to adjourn the meeting. The motioned was seconded by Ron Herbert and<br />

was approved unanimously. The meeting was adjourned at 7:42 PM.<br />
