South East Region Management Committee<br />

Voluntary position with limited expenses<br />

At locations within South East Region and venue for interregional<br />

tournament<br />

Until end of 2011 age-group tournaments. Position will then be<br />

reviewed with potential for a further appointment of 1 year.<br />

The South East Regional Management Committee (SERMC) are<br />

authorised by <strong>England</strong> <strong>Basketball</strong> (EB) to develop the best agegroup<br />

related talent in Surrey, East/West Sussex and Kent. We<br />

now seek to recruit 6 <strong>Assistant</strong> <strong>Coach</strong>es for the following teams<br />

that will attend the relevant inter-regional national tournament:<br />

Under-13 Boys’ Squad<br />

Under-13 Girls Squad<br />

Under-15 Boys’ Squad<br />

Under-15 Girls Squad<br />

Under-17 Boys’ Squad<br />

Under-17 Girls Squad<br />

This role would ideally suit a junior coach that has not got the<br />

experience or knowledge to be a Head <strong>Coach</strong>, but would relish the<br />

opportunity and benefit immensely from working with a senior<br />

coach.<br />

Responsibilities<br />

Assist the Head <strong>Coach</strong> in the preparation of the squad for<br />

the inter-regional tournament<br />

Attend squad training at a central venue approximately<br />

every fortnight from April 2011 to the end of the interregional<br />

tournament<br />

Attend the inter-regional tournament and assist in the<br />

coaching of the squad (see below for dates)<br />

Take responsibility for the keeping of team stats as<br />

directed by the Head <strong>Coach</strong><br />

Attend any meeting requested by the Chairman or<br />

<strong>Coach</strong>ing Officer of the SERMC<br />

Liaise with the Team Manager on all matters pertaining to<br />

the administration of the squad<br />

Person specification<br />

Be an active coach or assistant coach<br />

EB Level 1 coaching qualification or higher<br />

Have an understanding of EB’s child protection policies<br />

Must satisfactorily pass Criminal Records Bureau check
