Construction Management Program Educational Objectives<br />

The program objectives of the Construction Management Program at <strong>Roger</strong> <strong>Williams</strong> <strong>University</strong> are<br />

listed in Table 4.7, RWU Construction Management Program Educational Objectives. These<br />

objectives are published in the <strong>Roger</strong> <strong>Williams</strong> <strong>University</strong> Undergraduate Catalog, on the School of<br />

Engineering, Computing and Construction Management’s web site and in a number of Construction<br />

Management promotional materials. All incoming freshmen receive bookmarks listing the<br />

Construction Management Program’s objectives and outcomes.<br />

Objectives – Three to Five Years After Graduation, We Expect Our Graduates To:<br />

1. Demonstrate exemplary technical knowledge and skills while achieving success as a<br />

practicing constructor and leader, and always displaying the highest standards of ethical<br />

conduct.<br />

2. Value the concept of life-long learning and continue to grow intellectually while keeping<br />

informed of new concepts and developments in the construction process.<br />

3. Advance the construction management profession by becoming actively involved in<br />

professional associations and societies, serving in professional and community volunteer<br />

positions, and acting as a role model for the future generation of constructors and the <strong>Roger</strong><br />

<strong>Williams</strong> <strong>University</strong> Construction Management students.<br />

These three program objectives are consistent with the mission and goals of the School of<br />

Engineering, Computing and Construction Management. Table 4.8, Alignment and Mapping of the<br />

Construction Management Educational Program Objectives to the RWU Mission, Core Values and<br />

Goals , illustrates the connection of the Construction Management program objectives to the<br />

<strong>University</strong>.<br />
