Outcome g: an ability to use suitable writing and speaking skills as part of analyzing,<br />
designing, implementing, testing and fielding solutions<br />
Metrics Associated with Outcome g:<br />
Computer Science courses will have at least one oral presentation<br />
per course<br />
All seniors will have the opportunity in to make at least two oral<br />
presentations a semester as part of their senior project.<br />
At least 85% of all mentors and potential employers agree that<br />
graduating seniors possess the ability to communicate effectively.<br />
Seniors will present written reports detailing progress on their design<br />
project<br />
Seniors will present senior projects in written, oral, or poster form<br />
during the Senior Showcase<br />
At least 90% of graduating seniors report an increase of at least one<br />
full point from a pre-test measurement of communication skills to a<br />
post-test measurement, two semesters later, in their proficiency in<br />
communication skills<br />
At least 90% of alumni report that their RWU education has prepared<br />
them extremely well in communication skills for the workplace.<br />
“Extremely well” is defined as a 4 or 5 on a five point scale where 1<br />
means no preparation at all and 5 means the RWU education<br />
prepared the graduate extremely well for the workplace.<br />
Employers will report graduates meet acceptable performance<br />
criteria in oral and written communications<br />
