Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Book <strong>Scholarship</strong><br />

This scholarship is open to female minority seniors who posses character and leadership, have an<br />

overall C+ average, and show community involvement. For an application visit www.rockhillaka.org or<br />

see your counselor. Deadline is April 15.<br />

York County Annual Claw & Paw <strong>Scholarship</strong><br />

This scholarship is available to seniors planning on attending Clemson or any campus of USC. An<br />

essay is required. Please see your counselor for an application. Award amount is $500 for Clemson<br />

and $1000 for USC. Deadline is April 10.<br />

This scholarship is available to students who visit www.student-view.com and complete a 15 – 20<br />

minute application survey about colleges in your area. <strong>Scholarship</strong> is awarded via a random drawing.<br />

Award amount is $500-$3,000! Deadline is April 15.<br />

Donate Life SC<br />

This scholarship is available to legal residents of SC who have been accepted to an accredited twoyear<br />

or four-year university/college, vocational, or technical school. Students must be either a living<br />

donor, a transplant recipient, the child of a donor or recipient, or an active volunteer with Donate Life<br />

SC. The scholarship award will be based on scholarship, leadership, and community service. Go to<br />

www.donatelifesc.org for application packet. Award amount is $2500. Deadline is April 17.<br />

Quentavious L. Hemphill Memorial <strong>Scholarship</strong><br />

This scholarship is open to minority students who are in good academic standing, provide a letter of<br />

recommendation and complete a 1000 word essay on resilience. Please see your counselor for an<br />

application. Deadline is April 30.<br />

The <strong>South</strong>eastern States Pupil Transportation Conference <strong>Scholarship</strong><br />

This scholarship is available to students whose parent works in student transportation. Additional<br />

criteria includes a 3.0 GPA, leadership, citizenship, service, and an essay on the use of the scholarship.<br />

Value is $1,000. Deadline is April 30. Please see your counselor for an application.<br />

“Will to Win” <strong>Scholarship</strong> Program<br />

These scholarships are available to seniors with asthma. Two $5,000 scholarships will be awarded in<br />

the following categories: Performing Arts, Visual Arts, Community Service, Athletics, and Science.<br />

Applicants must have a 3.5 and demonstrate achievements in one of those areas. Please see your<br />

counselor for an application. Deadline is April 30.<br />

AEMP Foundation <strong>Scholarship</strong>s<br />

This scholarship is for students interested in a career as a heavy equipment technician. Students must<br />

have a 2.0 to apply. Numerous $2000 scholarships will be awarded. Deadline is May 1. Applications<br />

are available from your counselor or at www.aemp.org/scholarship.htm


SPHS Academic Booster Club <strong>Scholarship</strong><br />

There will be two $500 awards this year. Applicants must have a B average and be accepted into a 4 year<br />

school. Other criteria to be reviewed includes: academic records, extracurricular activities, honesty and<br />

integrity, initiative and motivation, leadership, moral character, special talents, and volunteer experience.<br />

Please see Mrs. Martin for an application. Deadline is May 1.<br />

This scholarship is for seniors with a GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale who have lost a sibling or parent to homicide<br />

and have completed one year of grief counseling. The death must have occurred at least 18 months prior<br />

to the submission of the application. You may apply online at www.peytontuthill.org. Deadline is May 1.<br />

James Brett Ringer <strong>Scholarship</strong><br />

This scholarship is available to students who demonstrate that they work hard to accomplish goals and<br />

complete tasks, have good character, are well rounded in academics and extra-curricular or volunteer<br />

activities, are loyal, and work unselfishly with others. An essay and two letters of recommendation are<br />

required. See your counselor for an application. Award amount is $500. Deadline is May 1.<br />

Shelly W Whiteside/ Carolina Dymes MC <strong>Scholarship</strong><br />

This scholarship is open to African American female seniors who have at least a 2.5 GPA and have been<br />

accepted into a 4 year school. Applicants need to provide 2 letters of reference and write an essay on why<br />

they should be considered for the scholarship. See your counselor for an application. Deadline is May 1.<br />

Pfizer’s Epilepsy <strong>Scholarship</strong> Award<br />

This scholarship is available to seniors who are currently under a doctor’s care for epilepsy. Twenty-five<br />

$3,000 scholarships will be awarded. Visit www.epilepsy-scholarship.com or see your counselor for an<br />

application. Deadline is May 1.<br />

B. Davis <strong>Scholarship</strong><br />

This scholarship is available to juniors and seniors who write an essay on one of two topics. Visit http://<br />

www.scholarshipquesthelper.com for complete details. Award amount is $1000. Deadline is May 30.<br />

SC Teachers and Career Changers Loan Programs<br />

This is a LOAN PROGRAM available to students planning to pursue a degree in education who are in the<br />

top 40% of their graduating class. You can receive up to $2500 for your freshman and sophomore year,<br />

and up to $5000 for each additional year. These loans can be forgiven by meeting certain qualifications<br />

such as teaching in SC after graduation. Deadline is June 1, however the sooner it is submitted the<br />

better! Please see your counselor for an application.<br />

Call Me MISTER Program<br />

This program is available to minority male students who are planning to become elementary teachers in a<br />

<strong>South</strong> Carolina public school. This program is a collaboration between Clemson University Benedict<br />

College, Claflin University, <strong>South</strong> Carolina State University, and Morris College. For scholarship information<br />

and an application, call 800-640-2657, or visit the Web site at www.callmemister.clemson.edu .<br />

Hispanic <strong>Scholarship</strong> Fund<br />

This fund is available to students of Hispanic heritage who are U.S. citizens or legal permanent residents,<br />

have a GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, high school senior, and fill out FAFSA. Apply at www.hsf.net .<br />

AES Engineering <strong>Scholarship</strong><br />

Any senior may apply by writing an essay on one of two topics. Go to http://www.aesengineers.com/<br />

scholarships.htm to submit your essay. No application packet required. Award amount is $500. Deadline<br />

is Oct. 6.
