TICKETS<br />
<strong>The</strong> ticket price will be $14. All seats are reserved. A group rate of $12 per ticket will be<br />
available on orders of 20 or more tickets ordered by a single purchaser. Send ticket orders<br />
to <strong>Iowa</strong> State Center, Ames, IA 50011. All orders received prior to October 25 will be held<br />
and processed on that date.<br />
ILLNESS<br />
<strong>The</strong> All-State Chair must be notified if illness should prevent participation in the All-State<br />
groups. Band members, or their director, should telephone John Aboud, Algona <strong>High</strong><br />
<strong>School</strong>; Orchestra members, or their director, should telephone Ted Hallberg, LeMars<br />
<strong>High</strong> <strong>School</strong>. Chorus members, or their director, should telephone Dr. Greg Grove, City<br />
<strong>High</strong> <strong>School</strong>, <strong>Iowa</strong> City.<br />
CONCERT DRESS<br />
Band members will wear their uniforms. Orchestra women will wear long dresses and men<br />
will wear suits (formal black). Chorus members must wear choir robes.<br />
REHEARSAL SCHEDULES<br />
<strong>The</strong> specific rehearsal schedule for each of the All-State ensembles will be mailed to<br />
auditioning schools prior to auditions. Check this very carefully. Any All-State Chorus<br />
student who is late to rehearsal will check-in with the All-State Chorus Chair. He/she will<br />
not rejoin the chorus but will sit with their director at the back of the chorus for the remainder<br />
of that rehearsal block of time. <strong>The</strong>y may rejoin the chorus for the next rehearsal. A<br />
second incident of tardiness will result in automatic dismissal from the festival. Attendance<br />
policies for the band and orchestra will be included in the folders of students accepted.<br />
MISCELLANEOUS ARRANGEMENTS<br />
1. Complimentary Tickets: Complimentary tickets for directors of participating<br />
students will be issued on the following basis: One ticket will be issued for each<br />
department represented in the All-State Festival ensembles; i.e., vocal = 1 ticket;<br />
orchestra = 1 ticket; band = 1 ticket. If a string player is accepted from a school<br />
without an orchestra program, a complimentary ticket will be awarded to the band<br />
program ONLY if that program had no players chosen for band. <strong>No</strong> director is entitled<br />
to more than a single complimentary ticket nor any district more than a total of three.<br />
Call the Association office if you have questions. All seats are reserved. <strong>School</strong>s<br />
are responsible for securing tickets for drivers, chaperones, spouses of directors and<br />
student teachers.<br />
2. Check your calendar carefully. Do not enter students who may have a conflict with<br />
any activity. Each student must be available for all rehearsals in Ames.<br />
3. If your school is to be represented in Ames, you will receive a final mailing<br />
containing students’ names (for you to proof for spelling), directors’ responsibilities,<br />
complete rules and regulations, and a map of the <strong>Iowa</strong> State Center area.<br />
