CONDUCT OF PARTICIPANTS/DIRECTORS<br />
It is the clear responsibility of participating students, directors, and administrators to<br />
practice the highest ideals of cooperation and the ethics of competition. The audition<br />
host or festival manager has the authority to take whatever immediate steps might be<br />
necessary in instances of questionable conduct. The Executive Committee shall have full<br />
authority to penalize any member school whose representatives may be, in the opinion of<br />
the Committee, guilty of neglecting this responsibility.<br />

ALL-STATE MUSIC CAMP GUIDELINES<br />
Any person/agency/institution hosting an All-State <strong>Music</strong> Camp<br />
within the State of <strong>Iowa</strong> must comply with the following criteria,<br />
which have been developed to insure a consistent, equal<br />
opportunity for camp operators/sponsors and participating<br />
students:<br />
1) Any All-State <strong>Music</strong> Camp desiring to function within the<br />
state of <strong>Iowa</strong> must obtain the annual written approval of the<br />
IHSMA offi ce prior to sending out any notifi cation to schools.<br />
2) Copies of any promotional material related to the camp<br />
(fl iers, brochures, letters, etc.) must accompany the camps<br />
written request for approval.<br />
3) <strong>No</strong> All-State <strong>Music</strong> camp may begin operations prior to<br />
<strong>August</strong> 1.<br />
4) Camps are encouraged to rehearse only with the supplied<br />
materials; i.e., pronunciations, rehearsal directions, etc.,<br />
provided with the music/Association bulletin. Telephone<br />
calls should not be directed to the All-State Chair, All-State<br />
Conductor or the Executive Director of the IHSMA.<br />
5) Camp fees cannot include the purchase of the employed<br />
music. Obtaining the All-State music remains the<br />
responsibility of the member school.<br />
