MINUTES OF EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEETING
June 29, 2011
The Executive Committee of the Iowa High School Music Association met at 2:30 p.m.,
June 29, 2011, in Philadelphia, PA while attending the National Federation of State High
School Associations Summer Meeting. Members present were: Jim Fritz, Decorah; Duane
Philgreen, Manchester; Todd Lettow, Hampton; Kathy Elliott, Panora; Mike Teigland, Indianola;
Susan Stogdill, Malvern. Also in attendance was Alan Greiner, Executive Director,
who served as the recording secretary. President Fritz chaired the meeting.
MMS (Elliott/Stogdill) to approve the minutes of the April 28, 2011 meeting as printed and
distributed. PASSED
MMS (Teigland/Philgreen) to approve the fi nancial bills as submitted. PASSED
Director Greiner presented the Year End Summary, highlighting each of the festivals of
2010-2011 and presented an overview of the fi nancial position of the Association with
long range goals in mind.
MMS (Stogdill/Lettow) to approve a 3-year agreement with A&M Products to supply medals
and awards for the IHSMA Award Program. PASSED
MMS (Philgreen/Lettow) to approve a 5-year agreement with ISU Athletic, Ames Convention
and Visitors Bureau, and ISU Center to host the Iowa All-State Music Festival. This
agreement begins in 2012 and continues through 2016. PASSED
The director presented a detailed budget proposal for the 2011-2012 fi scal year that featured
registration amounts, secretarial-custodial allowances, gate charges, awards and
memorabilia prices. Increases in amounts were denoted in bold print.
MMS(Fritz/Stogdill) to approve the Registration Fees, Secretarial/Custodial and memorabilia
sales prices as proposed and to increase Gate Charges to $5 for Adults and $3 for
Students for all IHSMA events and All-State Festival Concert to $18 for single tickets and
$16 for group ticket sales. PASSED
For 2011-2012, prices will be:

Marching Band - $100.00 All-State Vocal - $21.00
All-State Instrumental - $15.00 Show/Jazz Choir - $130.00
Jazz Band - $110.00 Solo/Small Ensemble - $10.00
Large Group Vocal - $75.00 Large Group Instrumental - $100.00
GATE CHARGES:
Marching Band - $5.00 adults; $3.00 K-12
All-State - $18.00 ($16.00 for group orders)
Show-Jazz Choir/Jazz Band - $5.00 adults; $3.00 K-12
