Professional Privilege
It is trite law that communications between
solicitors and their clients are privileged and,
therefore, are inadmissible in evidence in any
proceeding.
The privilege extends to communications
between a solicitor and his client which have the
purpose of seeking or giving legal advice and
communications between a solicitor and third
parties or between the client and third parties
which are made for the purposes of existing or
contemplated legal proceedings.
