Where everyone is welcome, nobody is perfect, and anything is possible.
Today in worship
Today is Palm Sunday! On Palm Sunday, the people celebrated Jesus as King when he
came into Jerusalem. This morning, Vicki Harrington Franch will preach at 8:45 and 11:15 a.m.
and Bryan Dunagan will preach at 10:00 a.m., as we continue our sermon series, Does Jesus
Still Matter The Gospel of John. The scripture for today’s sermon Pontius Pilate: “Jesus is one
among many truths” is John 18:28-19:16.
Palm Sunday is the beginning of Holy Week. We invite you to join us for Holy Week worship
services and events as we prepare for Resurrection Sunday. You can find a complete Holy
Week and Easter schedule on the back of the bulletin.
We welcome our own James Franch as he participates in worship today. James is a child of
Peachtree, the son of Dr. Hal and Rev. Vicki Franch, and was baptized by his grandfather,
Dr. Frank Harrington. He is a senior at the Westminster Schools, where he is a member of
the Westminster Ensemble and Men’s Acapella singing groups. James played Javert in Les
Miserables, Leo in The Producers, and Jesus in Godspell, here at Peachtree Presbyterian.
COngregational Meeting
The Session has called a Congregational meeting April 15th at the beginning of the
10:00 a.m. service for the purpose of electing the 2012 Officer Nominating Committee.
Connect with our community
Come down to “Take 10” in the Williams Center immediately after the service. You’ll
find coffee, lemonade and a cookie waiting.
about all of our exciting environments, begin by taking a Tour of Peachtree!
Center after each worship service. Next Tour: MAY 13
• Exploring Peachtree: Join us in Room 2315 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. where you’ll
learn more about Peachtree and have the opportunity to join our church community. This
interactive class is led by the Evangelism Team who will help you get connected at Peachtree.
A light breakfast will be served. Next Class: APRIL 15
To schedule a Tour or register for Exploring Peachtree, please contact Melissa Snipes at
404.842.2170.
As we prepare to worship we ask that all cell phones and beepers be turned off and that food and drinks
remain outside the Sanctuary. Parents, we want this time of worship to be a meaningful experience for
your family. If, during the service, your child needs attention, the seating area in the Williams Center is
available to you. The Williams Center is equipped with comfortable furniture and closed-circuit TVs so
you can continue to participate in the worship service while tending to the needs of your child. Closedcircuit
TV is also available in our Mommy & Infant Room just off of The Williams Center.
PALM SUNDAY
All Glory, Laud,
and Honor was
written around
a.d. 820 by Bishop
Theodolph of
Orleans, France,
while imprisoned
by Charlemagne’s
son, Louis I the
Pious.
According to
legend, Louis
passed by the
window to
Theodolph’s cell
and heard him
worshiping and
singing this hymn.
Moved by
Theodolph’s
worship, Louis
ordered his release
from prison.
In Mathew
21:14-16, the
children are heard
in the temple,
crying “Hosanna
to the Son of
David!” As our
children lead us in
the Palm Sunday
procession, let us
and sing to our
makes it clear
that the cross
is a symbol for
Christ’s love,
for it is through
Christ’s death
God’s amazing
expression of
love, that we have
does it mean
to “lift high the
next week How
will we proclaim
Christ’s love
by Eugene H. Peterson
Christ’s friends were utterly transformed by His
resurrection. Their friendship, their work, and even
their meals together took on a new meaning and
purpose. The same can happen to us today.
Eugene Peterson, beloved pastor, scholar, and translator
A Study For Couples
Facing Infertility
This impactful Bible study is
for couples who are
struggling on their journey
to parenthood. We’ll
explore how Biblical
couples dealt with
infertility issues and how
to apply their stories
to couples today.
