St. Pauls Elementary
April has flown by, but
showers of learning have left our
students in full bloom, ready to
do their best on upcoming End
of Grade assessments.
Our month started out
with an accreditation visit
from AdvancEd. The
school, staff, and
students saw it as a time
to shine. The team had
very positive things to
say about the displays
and work in the school,
the rigor of instruction,
and the caring,
encouraging,
environment. They also
noted how very friendly
all of the Bullpups were; from the
smallest to the tallest.
On April 11th, seven of our
star students carried on the
tradition of Bullpup Pride and
gave their best efforts to
participating in the Special
Olympics! We are so very proud
of all of them.
The halls were packed with
new Bullpup recruits as we
registered over 120 students for
2013-14 Pre K and Kindergarten.
We look forward to having our
newest St. Pauls Elementary
family members join us in
August.
Earth Day was an opportunity
for Bullpups to show that they
care for the world around them
just as much as they care for
their school. Third graders
worked diligently planting
flowers in front of the school
while other students created
projects that pointed out the
values of reducing, reusing and
recycling.
Our Reading Road Trip has
continued to be a success. At
the beginning of the month we
celebrated our arrival in St. Paul,
MN and began the return trip to
St. Pauls, NC. We are hoping
our Reading Road Trip returns us
to school just in time for summer
vacation.
April 26 was Career Day at
our school. Third through fifth
graders visited with various
professionals from our
community and had an
opportunity to explore various
careers. The gymnasium was
buzzing with
students excited
about the prospects
for their futures.
Our Bullpups have
set their sights on
careers in medicine,
health care,
teaching, nursing,
law enforcement,
military service,
cosmetology,
reporting,
mechanics,
firefighting and crime scene
investigation. We look forward
to May and continuing to prepare
our students for the bright
futures that await them.
