records along the way. At the Univ. of Nebraska, Hare is most well-known for a
behind-the-head buzzer shot that would beat Cazzie Russell’s #1 Michigan team at
the buzzer. Leaving school amid controversy, Hare continued his professional and

He’s a former MLB outfielder and DH, and after being
named Rookie of The Year in 1986, became the first
player to ever hit 40 homeruns and steal 40 bases in a single season, 1988.
He played for several teams, most notably the Oakland A’s, Texas Rangers,
and Toronto Blue Jays. He hit 462 homeruns. Since retiring from
major league baseball, he has played independent minor league baseball,
and dabbled in boxing and mixed martial arts. He also was the first
to ‘come out’ about drug and steroid use in major league baseball with his
best-selling autobiography, “Juiced.” Chastised by players and the league,
only later would everyone discover what he was saying was true. He now is a sought after
