Intrepids Air Safari
A superb fly-in safari
FLY-IN between two of Kenya’s
SAFARI most popular wildlife
areas. Avoiding travel
by road allows more time at the camps and
game viewing, and accommodation is at
the excellent Intrepids lodges, particularly
popular with families due to their excellent
children’s clubs and activities. For added
luxury, choose the upgrade option in the
Maasai Mara.
YOUR
ITINER ARY
TOUR DURATION: 6 NIGHTS
h Samburu: 3 nights
h Maasai Mara: 3 nights
DAY 1 h On arrival in Nairobi, transfer to Wilson airport and
fly to Samburu for three nights at Samburu Intrepids Camp.
Set in the national reserve amid acacia trees, the luxury
tented camp fringes the Uaso Nyiro River and its
abundance of wildlife. Afternoon game drive and overnight.
DAY 2 h Samburu Intrepids has 27 stylish tents on stilts and
wooden decking overlooking the river, shielded with
thatched roofs. All tents have been recently refurbished,
complete with new wooden floors, four-poster bed and
handcrafted furnishings with splashes of colour, reflecting
Samburu’s landscape. Each tent also has electricity, a
ceiling fan, minibar and bathroom with shower. The camp
also has a central main building and swimming pool. The
excellent Adventurers Club offers children plenty of fun
and educational activities to learn all about the wild, hosted
by Samburu naturalists specialising in plants, wildlife and
survival skills. Sample activities include bow and arrow
lessons, beaded jewellery making, footprint tracking,
obstacle courses and various games. Morning and afternoon
game drives in the camp’s own 4x4 vehicles are included.
DAY 3 h Morning and afternoon game drives take you into
the heart of the reserve with the chance to spot big cats
and more.
DAY 4 h After breakfast and an early morning game drive,
fly directly to the Maasai Mara and Mara Intrepids Camp
for three nights. An afternoon game drive will give a taste
of this famous reserve. The camp is run sustainably –
composting, wastewater recycling and self-generated heat
help minimise its effect on the stunning surroundings. 30
newly renovated and beautifully furnished tents are spread
across the riverside area to allow each guest their own
haven of tranquil privacy. Each sits on a shady raised
platform and is furnished in classic African safari style, with
four poster beds, intricate furniture, modern bathrooms
and amenities and sweeping views across the riverbank.
Children can enjoy another recommended children’s club,
run by Maasai naturalists. If you prefer, you may choose to
upgrade to the exquisite Mara Explorer Camp (shown as
Deluxe upgrade option in the prices). Set on the Talek River,
frequented by hippo, the intimate Explorer camp has just
ten secluded tents set on wooden decking, with en suite
shower, and an outdoor bath located on the deck.
