MEAL PLAN h Migration Routes: Breakfast from Day 2-10,
lunch Day 2 and dinner Day 2-9. Green Desert Expedition:
Breakfast from Day 2-7, lunch Day 2-6 and dinner Day
1-6. Both include local drinks including spirits but
excluding premium imported brands and Champagne.
ACCOMMODATION h In a selection of lodges, tented
camps and dome tented camps, as per itinerary.
Adventure Camps include dome tents with mini verandas,
cotton linen and duvets on GI stretchers, bedside table
with silver lantern, mini luggage benches and private
open-air en suite with hot water shower and toilet.
GROUP SIZE h Minimum 2 passengers, maximum
8 passengers.
TRAVEL TIPS h Pack a mixture of light and warm clothing,
sun cream, hat, camera, binoculars, insect repellent,
torch and spare batteries. Headlamps are also useful.
Maximum luggage allowance in 20kg in soft bags.

TOUR DURATION: 6 NIGHTS

DAY 1 h Upon arrival in Maun transfer by road to Deception
Valley Lodge in the Central Kalahari Game Reserve, your
home for the night. Whilst here enjoy both day and night
game drives, a thrilling way to experience a game reserve,
surrounded by the noises of the bush. You can also go on
guided walks, or enjoy bird watching from either the deck
at the main lodge or in the hide at the water hole. You’ll
also get to meet the San bushmen who will take you on
guided walks to show their culture, survival and hunting
skills and vast knowledge of the landscape and its inhabitants.
DAY 2 h Transfer to the Deception Valley Private Adventurer
Camp made up of a collection of dome tents with mini
verandas, en suite bathrooms in their own tent with a toilet
and bucket shower. Today explore prehistoric riverbeds,
petrified dunes and spot wildlife such as lion, cheetah,
bat-eared fox and black-backed jackal. This tour is timed to
allow visitors to see the Kalahari Desert, its vast swathes
of golden sand, during its wetter season to allow for more
game viewing and to contrast beautifully with the lush
waterways and islands of the Okavango Delta. Your three
night stay allows you to relax and unwind whilst also
embarking on extended day trips to places such as the
Piper Pans of Letiahau areas. This allows you to explore
areas of the park not normally accessed to ensure the best
possible wildlife experience.
DAY 5 h Today transfer overland for approx. 6 hours to
Maun and then fly to your final destination, the Okavango
Delta and Xigera Camp for two nights. The Okavango is the
perfect partner to the Kalahari as together they showcase
two of Botswana’s beautiful landscapes, the arid dunes of
the desert and the meandering waterways of the delta.
Take a guided mokoro trip down one of these lush channels
and spot pods of hippo, crocodile and countless birds
and insects as you’re gently punted along. A completely
different experience of Botswana, but still just as magical.
DAY 7 h After breakfast you’ll transfer to the airstrip for
your flight back to Maun and your onward journey.
