In South Africa, the basic rental charge includes unlimited
mileage, theft and collision damage waiver, personal
accident insurance, tyre and rim damage, windscreen
damage, airport surcharge, tourism levy, VAT and carbon
emission tax.
WHAT’S NOT INCLUDED
h All vehicles are subject to a rental deposit of ZAR 1500
and contract fee of ZAR 60
h Fuel charges and refuelling charge
h Garmin GPS unit (Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban,
Port Elizabeth) – payable locally.
h Additional Driver Charges and Young Driver Charges
h Traffic fine and claim handling fees
h Delivery and collection fees

h South Africa: ZAR 795 for all rentals terminating in excess
of 150km of the original rental office.
h Cross border one-way fees from South Africa to:
Swaziland ZAR 1000, Botswana ZAR 1500, Namibia ZAR
5000, Lesotho ZAR 1000. One-way drop offs are not
permitted in Mozambique or Zambia.
h One-way drop off fee of ZAR 200 between George,
Plettenberg Bay and Knysna.
h One-way drop off fee of ZAR 120 OR Tambo and Sandton.
CROSS BORDER CHARGES
h A letter of authorisation must be requested at the time
of reservation for all cross border travelling. Vehicles are
permitted into Botswana, Lesotho and Swaziland. Only
Groups B, C, D are allowed into Mozambique and Zambia.
Vehicles are not permitted into Angola or Zimbabwe.
h Cross border charges: Botswana, Lesotho, Namibia and
Swaziland ZAR 795; Mozambique and Zambia NAD 2000.
AGE h Minimum age for car rental is 23 years. For drivers
under 23 years a young driver surcharge applies.
LICENCE h All drivers must present a current licence that
has been held for more than two years. For all rentals, the
licence must be in English, or a foreign licence accompanied
by an International Drivers Permit and an English translation.
RENTAL PERIOD h Prices are calculated in 24 hour periods,
with a minimum 24-hour hire.
