DAY 1 h Upon your arrival a<br />

Private Safari’s representative<br />

will escort you to your transfer<br />

vehicle which will take you on to<br />

DAY 2 h After breakfast transfer<br />

to the station where you will be<br />

met by Blue Train representatives<br />

who will whisk your luggage away<br />

and escort you to the lounge<br />

where there is a selection of<br />

drinks and nibbles available.<br />

After a short briefing your butler<br />

will escort you to your cabin<br />

where you will stay for one night.<br />

Explore the Blue Train at your<br />

leisure and enjoy sumptuous<br />

cuisine in the dining car. Enjoy<br />

a drink in one of the two bars or<br />

simply gaze out of the window<br />

at the passing scenery. The Blue<br />

Train is said to be a window to<br />

the soul of Africa, and the views<br />

out and across this dramatic<br />

landscape are simply breath<br />

taking, it’s a journey of a lifetime<br />

in the lap of luxury.<br />

DAY 3 h The next day you will stop<br />

off at the town of Kimberley,<br />

famed for its diamond mine. Here<br />

you will visit the Big Hole and enjoy<br />

a tour of the diamond museum.<br />

Walk out over the edge of the hole<br />

on a suspended boardwalk for a<br />

better view of the turquoise water<br />

that fills the bottom of the mine<br />

and learn all about the history of<br />

the diamond trade, its winners and<br />

losers. Enjoy scenic surroundings<br />

as you complete the last leg of your<br />

train journey into Cape Town.<br />

On arrival transfer to the Taj Hotel,<br />

Cape Town where you have the<br />

rest of the day at leisure (approx.<br />

15 miles).<br />

DAY 4 h Spend the next three days<br />

exploring beautiful Cape Town<br />

where you will find a great array<br />

of shops, restaurants and bars.<br />

Alternatively you could take one<br />

of the many optional excursions<br />

(extra cost) on offer in this<br />

buzzing city. Take the cable car<br />

up Table Mountain where, on a<br />

clear day, you will be met by views<br />

over Cape Town and the Atlantic<br />

coast. On its flat top is the Table<br />

Mountain National Park, home<br />

to a plethora of flora and fauna.<br />

There is also a small gift shop and<br />

café as well as plenty of stunning<br />

viewpoints. Alternatively, embark<br />

on a cruise to Seal Island, visit the<br />

infamous Robben Island where<br />

Nelson Mandela was incarcerated<br />

or visit the penguin colony at<br />

Boulders Beach.<br />

DAY 7 h After breakfast transfer<br />

to Franschhoek and the beautiful<br />

Mont Rochelle, your home for<br />

the next two nights. Enjoy an<br />

afternoon at leisure where you<br />

can indulge in a complimentary<br />

wine tasting, lounge around<br />

the pool or take a stroll through<br />

the beautiful grounds. Dine on<br />

innovative cuisine in Mange<br />

Tout, with the tinkling of ivories<br />

adding to a relaxed and intimate<br />

atmosphere (approx. 63 miles).<br />

DAY 8 h Enjoy the next two days<br />

at your leisure in Franschhoek<br />

educating your palate to some<br />

of South Africa’s best wines and<br />

sumptuous cuisine. Maybe enjoy<br />

exploring the Cape Winelands<br />

further by visiting Paarl or<br />

Stellenbosch and sampling some<br />

of the wines from the many<br />

wineries that populate these areas.<br />
