The Charging Indians are
doing an offensive line shuffle
as well, starting with
Carencro transfer Greg
Lewis.
Lewis (6-4, 290), a junior, is
switching from offensive tackle
to right guard, and senior
Justin Woods (6-1, 265) is making
the transition from guard
to center to go with first-team
all-district right tackle
Sanchez Pitre (6-5, 305).
“With [Woods] being down
there anchoring the offensive
line, it’s unlimited what we
can do,” Harrison said. “We
can put in multiple run and
pass checks and let him do
what he does. And, he’s a 3.7
student.”
Calling the signals behind
the offensive line will be senior
quarterback Dylan
Gibson, who will make his
debut as starter this season.
He’ll be replacing three-year
starter Dwight Barker, and he
won’t have leading receiver
Desharick Guidry to throw to
this season.
Harrison said it’s
Delahoussye’s time to shine
as a slot receiver, which
would help Gibson settle into
his role.
"We expect [Delahoussye]
to come into his own this season,"
Harrison said.
"Dylan is not going out
there to win games, just to
make sure he puts the ball in
the right people’s hands and
everything is under control."

Watkins — The Bulldog
scored nine touchdowns and
caught 21 passes for 445 yards.
DeQuincy QB Jaleel
Bridges — As a sophomore,
Bridges threw for 1,898 yards
and 24 touchdowns.
Kinder RB Marshall
Harmon — In the final four
games of last season,
Harmon ran for 669 yards and
five touchdowns.

numbers could see a big

Flynt (6-4, 180) will assume
the duties. Flynt only missed
two extra points all of last
season, converting 41 of 43
tries.
“Kris will be hard to
replace, but we’ll still be
strong in the kicking game
with Flynt,” Johns said.
“Flynt kicked a 53-yard field
goal for us last year [in a 38-28
increase as Lavan becomes
the focal point of the Elton
offense. Jacobs, a McNeese
commitment, helps the
Indians control both sides of
the line of scrimmage.
Hamilton QB Marco
Richard — The speedster
caught 52 passes for 887 yards
and 11 touchdowns last season.
This year he moves
under center to lead an
offense that will be short on
experience.
