1. Ensuring project coordination and management<br />
Result: Efficient project co-ordination and management of the network HerO.<br />
Concrete outputs:<br />
6 activity and financial reports (according to the contractual requirements) to be<br />
delivered to the <strong>URBACT</strong> Secretariat<br />
3 Steering Group meetings to facilitate a fruitful exchange among the partners<br />
Presence of the Lead Partner at all <strong>URBACT</strong> training events to assure a proper<br />
project management<br />
2. Developing and implementing exchange and learning activities on<br />
sustainable urban policies with a focus on methods, approaches and<br />
integrated management strategies for vital historic urban landscapes<br />
Results: Increased capacity of the partners to balance and coordinate the different<br />
demands and interests on historic urban landscapes in order to facilitate a sustainable,<br />
future-oriented urban development (combining preservation of historic urban<br />
landscapes with the socio-economic development); awareness raising about the<br />
benefits of integrated development approach based on cultural heritage for historic<br />
urban landscapes.<br />
Concrete outputs:<br />
4 thematic seminars (incl. thematic reports) with a special focus on the development<br />
of “Integrated Cultural Heritage Management Plans”<br />
2 expert workshops (incl. thematic reports) on related topics, which have been<br />
conjointly identified by the partners as being the most relevant in terms of a<br />
sustainable development of historic urban landscapes(“Visual Integrity of historic<br />
urban landscapes’” and “Balanced urban functions in historic urban landscapes”)<br />
1 Good-practice compilation of innovative strategies and tools related to the<br />
HerO topic already applied in selected partner cities in order to serve as showcase<br />
for the other partners and stimulate the exchange of experience and learning<br />
process within the network (and beyond).<br />
1 Final Conference (incl. final thematic report) with participation of all project<br />
partners and their associated Managing Authorities, selected ULSG members,<br />
the EC and external guests (decision makers, urban experts); broad media coverage;<br />
Presentation of final network results; Presentation of paper: “Policyrecommendations<br />
to improve historic urban landscapes”and presentation of the<br />
guidelines on“Development and implementation of integrated cultural heritage<br />
management plans”<br />
3. Fostering the impact of project activities on local policies<br />
Results: Efficient working body (including all relevant stakeholders) to support the<br />
development and implementation of integrated cultural heritage management<br />
plans in the partner cities with the aim to balance and coordinate the different demands<br />
and interests on historic urban landscapes facilitating a sustainable, future-<br />
