- 2 nd workshop (4 th quarter 2010) on the topic “Balanced urban functions in historic<br />
urban landscapes” aims to discuss how to secure a social mixture in a historic<br />
urban landscape (gentrification/ segregation), how to secure housing functions<br />
and how to foster the local economy and traditional commercial activities<br />
(not just chain stores). <strong>The</strong> meeting furthermore aims to discuss the draft for<br />
the“policy recommendation paper to improve historic urban landscapes”.<br />
2.3 Compilation of good-practices on sustainable urban management applied in the<br />
partner cities<br />
Identification of good practice examples of innovative strategies and tools related<br />
to the HerO topic already applied in selected partner cities in order to serve as<br />
showcase for the other partners and stimulate the exchange of experience and<br />
learning process within the network (and beyond). <strong>The</strong> paper will already be presented<br />
at the 2 nd thematic seminar (1 st quarter 2009) to foster an early dialogue<br />
and exchange among the partner cities on specific topics.<br />
2.4 Final conference<br />
Organisational schedule: each PP 2 members during 2 days (3 nights);<br />
Participation of all project partners and their associated Managing Authorities, selected<br />
ULSG members, representatives of the European Association of Historic<br />
Towns and Regions, the European Commission and external guests (decision makers,<br />
urban experts). <strong>The</strong> aim of the Final Conference is to present the final network<br />
results such as the paper on “Policy recommendations to improve historic urban<br />
landscapes”and the guidelines on the “Development and implementation of integrated<br />
cultural heritage management plans”. Broad media coverage will be assured.<br />
