This Month:
Mike Jackofsky!
I decided to do something a little different from what most of you are used to seeing from me. Instead of just
focusing on hollow forms for the whole day, I will do something closer to my normal demos I sometimes do
when I visit other clubs.
I will do a quick, small hollow vessel project, but I will use most of the
time to concentrate more on general woodturning. I intend to spend some
time on using and sharpening bowl gouges because I think that can be a
confusing part of woodturning to many turners.
I will make an open bowl and also show how I make a spinning top with
chatter and maybe a small box.
I don’t have any exact plan, but that way I can take questions about any area of woodturning that you guys
want to cover. I intend to move fast in going through a number of projects during the day, in an attempt to
keep ( at least most of) you guys
from falling asleep!
See you there!
Mike J Introduces New Tools...
Mike Jackofsky is pleased to introduce two new additions to the Hollow Pro tool line. The “Rocket” is a set
of 3/8” shaft small vessel tools; available as a set (one straight and one bent tool) both with #1 Hunter cutters.
These tools will allow you to hollow small vessels up to 7” wide by 7” tall though openings as small as 1/2”.
Both tools have Mike’s “negative” angle for increased control and smooth finishing cuts on the interior.
Also available are the new Hollow Pro Calipers. Available in small and large sizes, they will accommodate
accurate and repeatable measurements in vessels from 8” diameter x 6 1/4” deep (small) to 18” diameter x 11
3/4” deep (large).
Tools will be available for inspection and purchase at the March meeting. Mike will offer special club pricing
at this months meeting.
