San Diego Woodturners Page 6 March 2013
Hello SDWT Members,
While researching the size ranking
of our AAW Chapter (in
2012, we were the 9th largest
out of 300), I also found that the
San Diego Woodturners, Inc.
was the 8th Chapter inducted
in the American Association of
Woodturners. We were so early
that we own the rights to use
the name “Woodturners” in our
chapter name. Any California
chapter that wants to include
“Woodturners” in their name
needs permission from us – and
that means just about all of
them!
If you want to:
- join the San Diego Woodturners
- renew AAW and/or SDWT
membership
- check your member number
or renewal date
- add your photo to the
SDWT Membership Directory
- obtain a new 2013 Membership
Card for local merchant
discounts
- order a Membership Badge
(wear your badge and receive 1
extra raffle ticket!)
- have an idea for our club …
… please see the instructions at
the end of the newsletter, just
before the membership application,
or contact me at Leonard-
Badour@roadrunner.com.
Thanks to everyone who renewed
on time. It makes my
job easier. Nearly all of the
long time (pre-2011) members
renewed by year’s end; newer
members have a renewal anniversary
date, the date they
joined AAW and SDWT. About
two months before the AAW
membership expires, your AAW
Journal will have a colored notice
attached.
Also, each AAW Journal Label
shows your member number and
renewal date with each issue.
Your SDWT membership renewal
date is the same as your
AAW renewal date, no matter
when you joined SDWT. When
you receive an AAW Journal
with a renewal notice, it’s also
time to also renew your SDWT
membership. (For insurance
purposes, SDWT members must
also be AAW members.)
As of March 2011, all new memberships
were converted from
the older calendar basis to anniversary
basis. If you have any
questions about your membership
renewal, please call AAW at
(651) 484-9094.
(For further membership instructions,
see the instructions just
before the membership application
near the end of the newsletter).
Thanks!
