The Society offers a limited number of grants of up to £500<br />
to enable medical students to make use of their elective<br />
period or vacation for a project concerned with health or<br />
health care in old age either in the UK or abroad.<br />

Haematology<br />
The awards made are usually between £150 and £600 and<br />
are open to students undertaking approved electives<br />
overseas. Preference is given to well-planned and wellpresented<br />
applications and a detailed project will enhance<br />
your chance of receiving an award. A short report is<br />
required on completion of elective.<br />
For projects on food and nutrition and their relationship to<br />
health and disease in a developing country or countries.<br />
The Society provides Student Scholarships with a maximum<br />
value of £600 to support undergraduates undertaking<br />
electives in the field of Haematology.<br />

The British Society for<br />
Surgery of the Hand<br />
BSSH offers two annual bursaries of £750 to support<br />
medical student elective attachments in Hand Surgery. An<br />
application form can be obtained from the Secretariat. The<br />
attachment should be completed within 18 months of the<br />
award. The Society expects to receive a short report of the<br />
attachment within two months of its completion.<br />
