Start-up efficiency: Helical worm gearboxes<br />

The start-up efficiency A of a helical worm gearbox is<br />

lower than its operative efficiency at rated speed.<br />

This means that the start-up efficiency A should be<br />

monitored constantly during start-up under load.<br />

The start-up efficiency is determined by the oil temperature<br />

and the degree to which the tooth faces have been run in.<br />

The values given in the tables are theoretical values and<br />

are valid with a tolerance of ± 10 %.<br />
