UCP Suffolk Appoints Wolf Director
of Health Center Operations
Peter Wolf has joined
United Cerebral Palsy Association
of Suffolk as
Director of Health Center
Operations. Wolf will
oversee the administration
and fiscal operations of
UCP’s three Health Centers
located in Central Islip,
Hauppauge and Port Jefferson
Station.
“Peter Wolf brings with
him an impressive background
in the healthcare

field and a fiscal acuity which will help
further expand UCP Suffolk’s delivery of
quality medical and therapeutic services to
persons with disabilities,” said President/
CEO Stephen H. Friedman.
Prior to joining the UCP Suffolk
executive team, Wolf
was the Senior Network
Vice President/Special
Director of the Southern
Brooklyn/Staten Island
Health Network. Previously,
he held the positions
of Chief Operating
and Financial Officer
at Coney Island Hospital,
Chief Financial
Officer at North Bronx
Healthcare Network,
and Chief Financial Officer
for the Lincoln Medical and Mental
Health Center.
Wolf holds a Master degree in Planning
from Harvard University and a Bachelor
of Arts degree from the State University
of New York at Albany.
Sampogna Joins Leake & Watts
Susan Sampogna has
joined Leake & Watts as
the new Director of the
Residential Treatment Center
on the Yonkers campus
which serves youth ages
12-21 in need of therapeutic
and educational support
Sampogna comes to
Leake & Watts from the
Administration for Children’s
Services, having recently
served as the Director
of the Office of Safety Susan Sampogna

concerns related to open child protective
investigations.

Rivera New VP at Exponents, Inc.
Sam Rivera has been
appointed Vice President
of Exponents, Inc. The
announcement was made
by Exponents’ Founder
and President Howard
Josepher, LCSW at the
108th graduation of the
ARRIVE Program.
“Like many of us at
Exponents, Sam turned
his life around from one
of drugs and crime to
become a contributing
member of society,” said
Josepher. “He is an example of the transformative
power of turning a negative into
a positive and becoming a source of healing
and hope for others.”
Rivera graduated ARRIVE in 1992
and has been working with the agency
since 2007. He has 20 years of direct and
administrative experience in substance
abuse treatment, criminal
justice and HIV/AIDS prevention
and care. He is the former
Community Co-Chair of the NYC
HIV Prevention Planning Group,
a former member of the NYC Department
of Health Commissioner’s
Advisory Board and former

Josepher noted that
Rivera’s appointment is

agency would be in good hands should my
role change,” said Josepher. “For now, I
don’t see that happening and I want people
who care to welcome and accept this
announcement with happiness for Sam
and understanding that we are looking out
for the future.”
