Local retailers and suppliers are the lifeblood of their
communities. This is why we aim to secure a competitive
independent retail sector that delivers fresh local produce
in all the cities, towns and villages in which we operate.
The retailers that partner with Musgrave are
independent. Almost all the outlets that carry our
brands are owned by progressive entrepreneurs living
and working in the communities in which they operate.
These are businesses committed to excellent customer
service run by people who thrive on innovation.
We are working closely with our retailers, to provide
them with cutting-edge supply-chain logistics,
centralised purchasing and distribution systems, staff
training and brand marketing.
We now support more than 3,000 stores and together
with our retailers employ more than 44,000 people
in three countries – from Aberdeen to Alicante, Achill
Island to Abergavenny – and all are situated in the very
heart of the cities, towns and villages in which they
serve.
Bringing high quality fresh foods to these local stores
is one of the ways our business delivers value to
communities.
We only work with suppliers that can guarantee the
finest quality products and highest possible standards
of food safety and hygiene. The new SuperValu
Supreme range offers a selection of more than 80
products sourced from expert producers, all of
whom use the very finest ingredients.
Wherever possible we source locally – for
example, in Ireland more than 75 per cent of
produce is produced in Ireland. In addition, we
continually monitor suppliers large and small to
ensure they consistently meet our exacting standards.
