INSTALLATION
1
Mark the position on walls for the finished
ceiling height taking into account the thickness
and number of layers of plasterboard to be
used. Fix the GTEC Edge Channels to walls at
600mm maximum centres.
For the location of the GTEC Primary Channels,
mark lines on the ceiling at centres in
accordance with the thickness and number
of layers to be used. See table 1.
2
Attach GTEC Soffit Cleats to the structural soffit
at 1200mm centres along the centre lines for
GTEC Primary Channels.
Cut lengths of GTEC Metal Angle equal to the
vertical distance from the GTEC Soffit Cleats to
the top of the edge channels. Fix GTEC Metal
Angle to the GTEC Soffit Cleats with appropriate
Nut and Bolt.
A GTEC Soffit Cleat is not required for timber joist
floors. Instead, fix GTEC Metal Angles direct to the
sides of timber joist with a minimum overlap of
50mm using a minimum of 2 suitable fixings.
3
Fix GTEC Primary Channel to GTEC Metal Angles
with two GTEC Pan Head Self Drilling screws.
Where necessary, join the GTEC Primary Channel
by overlapping 150mm back to back and fixing
with two appropriate Nuts and Bolts.
