Environmental Policy Fulfilling our Responsibility to the Environment and the Community is a key objective of our business. We will prevent pollution, complying with all relevant environmental legislation. Where feasible, we will integrate Environmental considerations into our business processes, improving sustainability and product stewardship. All employees are responsible for respecting this policy and education and training to this end will be provided. The company will adopt an Environmental Management System (EMS) complying with BS EN ISO 14001: 2004 to ensure its environmental objectives are met. We will continuously improve our environmental performance. • Maximising the efficient use of energy in our business; • Minimising the use of non-renewable resources and, when feasible and safe, replacing them with secondary raw materials or alternative fuels; • Minimising waste, re-using and recycling materials where possible, disposing of waste responsibly; • Conserving water and minimising the risk of accidental release to air water and land; • Respecting the natural environment surrounding our sites; limiting noise and progressively improving their visual aspect; • Minimising the environmental risks to our employees and surrounding communities; • Encouraging our suppliers to adhere to similar environmental principles through procurement processes; • Adhering to environmental commitments defined by Lafarge Group and the Lafarge Gypsum Division. Specific targets will be developed to drive many of these objectives. Good stakeholder relations will be promoted through active engagement and communication. Lafarge Plasterboard employees play a key role in the implementation and success of this policy and targeted communication will encourage and support their active participation. Whilst our literature covers most common uses and situations, every installation is different and there are bound to be special situations which are not covered. In these cases Technical Enquiryline can provide an immediate response to your specific enquiry. These enquiries may include installations and design detailing, the performance of drywall systems covering fire and sound ratings and U-value calculations.
