Direct Bond (including GTEC Thermal Board) Components Lafarge code Size Lafarge GTEC Direct Bond system is used for attaching plasterboard and GTEC Thermal Board directly onto masonry backgrounds. This method is quick to apply and can be used to correct minor irregularities in the existing background. GTEC Universal Bonding Compound* BOND25 25 kg Applications • Lining new masonry walls for domestic use. • Lining new masonry walls for commercial use. • Lining old masonry walls which have an even background. Benefits • Quick and cost effective to install. • No mechanical fixing is needed with GTEC Standard Board. Good Site Practice • This system must only be used on walls which are free from damp. • GTEC Universal Bonding Compound must harden before jointing, allow 8 hours. • Will only correct minor surface irregularities. • Not suitable for the installation of GTEC Vapour Board, GTEC Moisture Board, GTEC Fire MR Board or GTEC Hydrodeco. Preparation various Prepare surfaces as required according to table 1 and select appropriate adhesive. Cut plasterboard 10mm shorter than the floor to ceiling height. Notes: See GTEC Product Selector Installation Guide for details 1. Extremely smooth surfaces may require abrasion prior to PVCA treatment. 2. Surfaces must be free of mould, oil and dust. Contaminated surfaces may require chemical cleaning. Painted surfaces are not suitable for direct bonding; use Lafarge GTEC Dryliner System. 3.
