with a subsequent commentary composed later in the same year in Aleppo, it comprises<br />

This work is a meditation on the meaning of the spiritu<strong>al</strong> journey in gener<strong>al</strong> and the<br />
journeys of the Prophets in particular. These journeys are without end, in this world and<br />
the next, and are described as "a reminder of what is within you and in your possession that<br />
you have forgotten".<br />

Written sometime before 626 AH, probably in Damascus, it consists of 117 sections<br />
devoted to individu<strong>al</strong>s c<strong>al</strong>led 'Abd Allah, the work conforms to a ╓ad┘th that man possesses<br />
117 characteristics, and explains the re<strong>al</strong>isation of these characteristics in terms of Divine<br />
Names.<br />

Written sometime after a vision of the Prophet in 627 AH in Damascus, and in<br />
accord with his (the Prophet's) order that it be written. Considered to be the quintessence<br />
of <strong>Ibn</strong> 'Arab┘'s spiritu<strong>al</strong> teaching, it comprises twenty-seven chapters, each dedicated to the<br />
