Note to teacher: This is a Writing activity that focuses on ‘Writes a dialogue’ from the Grade 4 CAPS Term 3 Home
Language requirements. The goal is to emphasise to the learners that one needs to look after pets very carefully
and give them lots of love. Start off the lesson talking about looking after new kittens. Show the learners a video
clip called Kitten Care: Handling Kittens. The learners then interpret the pictures on
the worksheet and write a dialogue for each picture in a correct format. They work
out five rules for caring for kittens and discuss how they look after their various pets.
