About NIFFT<br />
<strong>National</strong> <strong>Institute</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Foundry</strong> and Forge Technology (NIFFT),Hatia, Ranchi was established by<br />
Government <strong>of</strong> India in collaboration with UNDP,UNESCOin 1966 at Ranchi, Jharkhand with<br />
the objectives to organize teaching and training programs, conduct research and development<br />
in frontier areas pertaining to foundry and forge technology and technological guidance and<br />
documentation<br />
services to foundry, forge and other related engineering industries.<br />

in foundry/forge tech~ology and allied fields through its Library and Documentation centre.<br />
The Jharkhand, land <strong>of</strong> Birsa Munda & Tana Bhagat, blessed with nature's plenty <strong>of</strong> beauty,<br />
sprawling "LushGreen" forests waterfalls &pleasant climate came into existence in 2000 and has<br />
a population <strong>of</strong> about 27 million. This state has a proud heritage <strong>of</strong> struggle and movement in<br />
pre independence era but also in the histories <strong>of</strong> industrial development. India's first integrated<br />
steel plant was set up in Jharkhand. Jharkhand ranks first in the country in respect <strong>of</strong> coal, iron<br />
ore and mica and second for copper and graphite.<br />
NIFFTcampus is located in southern part <strong>of</strong> Ranchion Ranchi Chaibasa Roaq at Hatia, which .is<br />
about 10 km from Ranchi railway station, 3 km from Hatia railway station and about 6 km from<br />
Ranchi airport.<br />
