About NIFFT
National Institute of Foundry and Forge Technology (NIFFT),Hatia, Ranchi was established by
Government of India in collaboration with UNDP,UNESCOin 1966 at Ranchi, Jharkhand with
the objectives to organize teaching and training programs, conduct research and development
in frontier areas pertaining to foundry and forge technology and technological guidance and
documentation
services to foundry, forge and other related engineering industries.
NIFFT, now offers (1)Advanced Diploma Course in Foundry Technology, (2) Advanced Diploma
Course in Forge Technology, (3) B.Tech. Course in Manufacturing Engineering, (4) B.Tech. Course
in Metallurgy and Materials Engineering, (5) M. Tech. Course in Foundry and Forge Technology,
(6) M. Tech. Course in Manufacturing Engineering, (7) M. Tech. Course in Environmental Science
& Engineering, (8)M. Tech. Course in Materials Science &Engineering, (9)Ph.D.,(10)Post Doctoral
Program and (11)Continuing Education Programs involving a seriesof Short Term Refreshercourses
in specialized areas and unit based programson request from the industries

NIFFToffers consultancy services in the form of problem solving, preparation of project reports,
selection and evaluation of equipment and machinery and testing of raw materials,casting, forgings
and other components. Besidesthis,italsoprovidesdocumentations and informationretrievalservices
in foundry/forge tech~ology and allied fields through its Library and Documentation centre.
The Jharkhand, land of Birsa Munda & Tana Bhagat, blessed with nature's plenty of beauty,
sprawling "LushGreen" forests waterfalls &pleasant climate came into existence in 2000 and has
a population of about 27 million. This state has a proud heritage of struggle and movement in
pre independence era but also in the histories of industrial development. India's first integrated
steel plant was set up in Jharkhand. Jharkhand ranks first in the country in respect of coal, iron
ore and mica and second for copper and graphite.
NIFFTcampus is located in southern part of Ranchion Ranchi Chaibasa Roaq at Hatia, which .is
about 10 km from Ranchi railway station, 3 km from Hatia railway station and about 6 km from
Ranchi airport.
