Area residents create Manor House display honoring Dionne Quintuplets<br />

<strong>Perrysburg</strong> residents Louise Brubaker and Julie<br />

Overy decorated <strong>the</strong> Cedar Closet in <strong>the</strong> Manor House at<br />

Wildwood Park. They are both members <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Toledo<br />

Mo<strong>the</strong>rs Of Twins Club and Ms. Brubaker also is a member<br />

<strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Dionne Quintuplet Collectors Club.<br />

The display, “A Dionne Quintuplet Christmas” was<br />

provided by Ms. Brubaker’s personal collection. Two<br />

o<strong>the</strong>r Twins Club members, Joann Miller-Davis and Beverly<br />

Burzynski, also help with decorating this area.<br />

The Dionnes are <strong>the</strong> world’s only set <strong>of</strong> all identical<br />

quintuplets in <strong>the</strong> world and <strong>the</strong>y are now 78 years old.<br />

Two <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>m, Cecile and Annette, are still living near<br />

Montreal, Canada. Emilie died at age 20, Marie at age 36,<br />

and Yvonne at age 67. Before <strong>the</strong> quints’ births, <strong>the</strong>ir<br />

mo<strong>the</strong>r had given birth to six children, <strong>the</strong>n had <strong>the</strong><br />

quints, which made her a mo<strong>the</strong>r <strong>of</strong> 11 by <strong>the</strong> age <strong>of</strong> 25.<br />

She gave birth to three o<strong>the</strong>r children following <strong>the</strong><br />

quints. The family lived in a farm house which had no<br />

insulation, no electricity and no plumbing.<br />

Recycle Christmas<br />

These recycling services are available:<br />

• Cardboard—small flattened corrugated boxes and o<strong>the</strong>r kinds <strong>of</strong> paper boxes may<br />

be recycled curbside. Large boxes may be dropped <strong>of</strong>f at <strong>the</strong> Department <strong>of</strong> Public<br />

Service, 1<strong>19</strong>80 Roachton Road or 211 East Boundary during regular business<br />

hours <strong>of</strong> Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. (excluding holidays).<br />

• Special Cardboard Recycling Christmas Hours—will be available at <strong>the</strong> Department<br />

<strong>of</strong> Public Service, 1<strong>19</strong>80 Roachton Road from 9 a.m.-12 noon on Saturday,<br />

<strong>December</strong> 29, <strong>2012</strong>.<br />

• Cell phones—may be recycled at Pak Mail, Way Public Library and cell phone stores.<br />

• Christmas Tree Curbside Recycling Collection—will be Wednesday, January<br />

2 through Friday, January 11. All trees must be undecorated and at <strong>the</strong> curb for collection.<br />

There is no alley collection <strong>of</strong> Christmas trees.<br />

• Christmas Tree Recycling After Curbside Collection—residents may take<br />

<strong>the</strong>ir Christmas trees to <strong>the</strong> City Compost Site Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. –<br />

3:00 p.m. or on <strong>the</strong> second and fourth Saturday <strong>of</strong> each month from 8 a.m. – 12<br />

noon (excluding holidays). City residents must be registered for <strong>the</strong> usage. During<br />

<strong>the</strong> week, residents must check in at <strong>the</strong> Department <strong>of</strong> Public Service and on Saturdays<br />

go directly to <strong>the</strong> City Compost Site.<br />

• Christmas tree lights—may be recycled at <strong>the</strong> Department <strong>of</strong> Public Service<br />

Building located at 1<strong>19</strong>80 Roachton Road during regular business hours <strong>of</strong> Monday<br />

through Friday 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. (excluding holidays) during <strong>the</strong> months <strong>of</strong> <strong>December</strong><br />

and January.<br />

• Computers—may be recycled (working or nonworking computers and parts) year<br />

round at <strong>the</strong> Goodwill Donation Station located <strong>of</strong>f North Dixie Highway in <strong>the</strong> plaza<br />

across from Walt Churchill’s Market.<br />

• Gift Wrapping Paper—may be recycled curbside. Only paper gift wrap may be<br />

recycled. Paper gift bags can also be recycled. PLEASE do not place gift wrap paper<br />

in plastic bags. You may place gift wrapping paper in cardboard boxes or paper<br />

bags. NO ribbon, bows, foil or Mylar paper can be recycled.<br />

• Greeting Cards and Envelopes—may be placed in a paper bag, set out for curbside<br />

recycling with gift wrapping paper, newspapers, magazines, catalogs, telephone<br />

books and junk mail.<br />

• Packing Peanuts—may be dropped <strong>of</strong>f at Pak Mail in Perry’s Junction, <strong>the</strong> UPS<br />

store on Route 20 by Taco Bell and, at <strong>the</strong> e-Bay Store in Commodore Way on<br />

Louisiana Avenue.<br />

• Plastic Toys—may be recycled by participating in <strong>the</strong> Levis Commons “Play it Forward”<br />

program. On Saturday, January 5, 2013, take clean used plastic toys to <strong>the</strong><br />

movie <strong>the</strong>atre entrance to be donated to local agencies. Large toys like ride on<br />

toys, play houses, outside play equipment are welcome. No stuffed animals or<br />

• Televisions—may be recycled at Best Buy. They also accept small electronics for<br />

recycling<br />

These items cannot be recycled:<br />

• Christmas Wreaths/Roping—should be placed in <strong>the</strong> garbage.<br />

• Molded Styr<strong>of</strong>oam Packing Pieces—may be disposed <strong>of</strong> in<br />

garbage collection.<br />
