1995 to 1999 Extension Specialist serving as the Teen Coordinator, USDA/Army School-Age &<br />
Teen Project (ASA&T). This position is based on an Interagency Agreement between<br />
USDA and Department of the Army to develop a training and technical assistance<br />
program for Army Staff implementing youth development educational programs.<br />
Responsibilities include developing a strategic plan of work for the teen component of<br />
the project, serving as program advisor/supervisor to seven Teen Specialists in their<br />
provision of services to Army installations worldwide; designing and delivering staff<br />
development materials, including staff competency modules; linking Army and ASA&T<br />
staff with Cooperative Extension resources; designing and managing a world-wide Teen<br />
Discovery leadership camp for installation staff and teens; designing an annual Teen<br />
Training Conference for Army Staff working with teens; developing resource and<br />
operation manuals for teen program implementation; and evaluating teen program<br />
components of the project.<br />
1994 to 1995 Research & Program Coordinator, Arizona Cooperative Extension, Division of<br />
Family Studies, The University of Arizona. This position was based on an ES-<br />
USDA State Project to Strengthen Community Programs grant. Responsibilities<br />
include working with county and campus teams to design, implement, and<br />
evaluate community capacity strengthening programs; conducting community asset<br />
and needs evaluations; collaborating on staff development curriculum and training<br />
of youth development professionals; and preparing grant proposals.<br />
1992-94 Research Associate, Arizona Cooperative Extension, Division of Family Studies,<br />
The University of Arizona. This purpose of this position was to facilitate the<br />
integration Family Studies resources into Arizona Cooperative Extension.<br />
Examples include implementation and data analysis of the "Teen Opinion Poll of<br />
Arizona;" compilation of community fact sheets; collaborating with the Family<br />
Task Force to develop curriculum related to the four to eight year-old child;<br />
collaborating with the Gila county extension agent to develop and implement a<br />
moral development curriculum for adolescents; and designing a data base for the<br />
Pinal County Parent-Aid Project, providing training, and assisting with analyses.<br />

1990-1991 Psychiatric Team Assistant at Northern Colorado Medical Center's PsychCare,<br />
Greeley, Colorado. Responsibilities included facilitation of group and individual<br />
therapy sessions; providing documentation on client behavior and affect; and<br />
writing treatment plans.<br />
1989-1990 Counselor/Teacher Eckerd Family Youth Alternatives, E-Nini Hassee, Floral<br />
City, Florida. This position required living in a wilderness campsite with a group<br />
of 10 to 13 emotionally disturbed girls 24 hours a day, 5 days a week.<br />
Responsibilities included writing, implementing, and evaluating client treatment<br />
plans; facilitating group discussions; planning and leading educational activities;<br />
facilitating tent designs and construction; and planning and executing day field<br />
trips as well as extended (over 14 days) canoeing trips.<br />
