Sense: ‘The ‘ desire nature of <strong>on</strong>e who wishes to create.’<br />

<strong>the</strong> world, assumes <strong>the</strong> desire nature [icchåtva] of Him who<br />

Sense: ‘The nadi or psychic nerve current which runs between<br />

<strong>the</strong> coccyx and <strong>the</strong> tip of <strong>the</strong> left nostril and follows <strong>the</strong><br />

su‚hum~å or central nadi up <strong>the</strong> spinal column to <strong>the</strong> brain.’ Its<br />

complimentary current is pingala in <strong>the</strong> right nostril.<br />

Idam (idd-dam)<br />

Sense: ‘This.’<br />

In general, idam refers to <strong>the</strong> universe as ‘all this’ (Idam<br />

sarvam = ‘this all’), being everything in visible manifestati<strong>on</strong>;<br />

as opposed to Tat (that) which is transcendent.<br />

Idam bhava is “This-ness,” as Aham Bhava is “I-ness.”<br />
