<strong>Ontario</strong> <strong>Statutory</strong> <strong>Accident</strong> Benefits Statistical Plan Documentation Update<br />
In the attached PDF are changes to the <strong>Ontario</strong> <strong>Statutory</strong> <strong>Accident</strong> Benefit (OSAB) Statistical<br />
Plan, which are effective with July <strong>2006</strong> Entry Dates. These changes are the result of<br />
recommendations coming out of the recent OSAB workshop conducted by IBC, as well as the<br />
elimination of Designated Assessment Centres.<br />
A new secondary kind of loss code (03) for Examination (Primary 260) regarding reporting of<br />
Rebuttal fees is valid with accident dates July <strong>2006</strong> and later.<br />
Due to the elimination of DACs, Designated Assessment Centre fees, Code 02 must only be used<br />
for assessments in progress, scheduled or requested prior to March 1, <strong>2006</strong> on accidents prior to<br />
March 1, <strong>2006</strong>.<br />
The definitions of some kind of loss codes have been modified to clarify coding requirements.<br />
These are identified in the updated OSAB statistical plan manual pages.<br />
In addition, certain Edit Rules have been changed to support the new codes while others have<br />
been modified to improve reporting of Income Replacement and Extended Health Care Collateral<br />
Source Indicators. Consequently, Edit Rules H38 and H39 have been eliminated.<br />
