RESERVATIONS<br />

You must be at least 18 years old to rent a campsite.<br />

Reservations must be made no later than two weeks prior to camping dates by phone or in<br />

person. Payment may be made in person, by check or by credit card. Mastercard and Visa are<br />

accepted.<br />

A maximum <strong>of</strong> two (2) waterfront sites may be used for extended stay. All other sites are a<br />

fifteen (15) day maximum stay.<br />

A four (4) night minimum reservation is required for Waterfront Sites on the weekends.<br />

Any site sleeping more than six (6) persons will be charged an additional $6 per person/per day.<br />

No site selection guaranteed.<br />

<strong>The</strong> park opens the last Saturday in April and closes the third Saturday in October.<br />

reservations.<br />

RATES<br />

Waterfront sites: $25 per day. Water and electric hookups are available.<br />

Non-Waterfront sites: $20 per day. Water and electric hookups are available.<br />

Non-Waterfront site with water, electric and sewer hookups: $25 per day.<br />

Limited boat slips are available for $5 per day on a first come/first served basis. <strong>The</strong>se slips are<br />

for campers only.<br />

Restroom key deposit <strong>of</strong> $5 is required and will be refunded upon checkout. One key is issued<br />

per campsite.<br />

Cancellations made up to 72 hours prior to the date <strong>of</strong> the reservation will receive a refund,<br />

less the $6.00 convenience fee. Cancellations made after that time will receive no refund.<br />

CAMPSITE RULES<br />

All campers must check in with the <strong>Park</strong> Manager.<br />

Site is not to be unoccupied for more than 48 hours.<br />

Site must be tidy so lawn mowing can be done.<br />

Renters parking equipment must be contained on one (1) campsite.<br />

Boat trailers must be parked in designated areas only - on your site or on top <strong>of</strong> the hill.<br />

Five (5) mph speed limit throughout the park.<br />

Campfires in designated areas only.<br />

All litter must be placed in plastic bags (furnished by <strong>Thurston</strong> <strong>Park</strong>), tied and placed in the<br />

dumpster.<br />

Feeding <strong>of</strong> waterfowl is prohibited for health reasons.<br />

Absolutely NO campers are allowed in the water within ten (10) feet <strong>of</strong> the boat launch<br />

and/or dock. <strong>The</strong>re are NO lifeguards. Swim at your own risk.<br />

Mooring <strong>of</strong> boats and other recreational equipment at locations other than specific boat slips are<br />

strictly at the risk and responsibility <strong>of</strong> the owner.


COURTEOUS CAMPING<br />

We hope that all <strong>of</strong> our campers enjoy <strong>Thurston</strong> <strong>Park</strong>. Please be courteous <strong>of</strong> other campers.<br />

NO LOUD MUSIC, NO PROFANITY, NO USE OF WEAPONS OR AIRGUNS, NO<br />

FIREWORKS.<br />

MODERATE DRINKING OF ALCOHOL IS PERMITTED AT CAMPSITES ONLY.<br />

PUBLIC INTOXICATION WILL NOT BE TOLERATED AND WILL BE REPORTED<br />

TO THE POLICE.<br />

Campers are responsible for securing all alcoholic beverages when not at their campsite.<br />

At no time shall coolers containing alcoholic beverages be left unattended or unsecured.<br />

QUIET HOURS ARE TO BE OBSERVED AND WILL BE ENFORCED FROM 11 PM - 7 AM.<br />

PETS<br />

Limit <strong>of</strong> two (2) pets per unit.<br />

Pets must be leashed at all times and are NOT allowed in the restroom.<br />

Length <strong>of</strong> leash shall not exceed six (6) feet.<br />

Pet owners must clean up after their pet.<br />

FISH CLEANING<br />

<strong>Thurston</strong> <strong>Park</strong> provides a Fish Cleaning House. Fish must be cleaned and scaled on paper.<br />

Soiled paper and fish cleanings must be placed in plastic bags, tied and deposited in the<br />

barrel in the Fish Cleaning House.<br />

Please keep the Fish Cleaning House clean.<br />

<strong>The</strong> <strong>Park</strong> Manager, in conjunction with local law enforcement, has the authority to evict<br />

campers who violate these rules, the local ordinances and/or State <strong>of</strong> Michigan laws.<br />

Campers who are evicted from <strong>Thurston</strong> <strong>Park</strong> shall receive NO refunds and shall NOT be<br />

allowed to return to <strong>Thurston</strong> <strong>Park</strong> for the remainder <strong>of</strong> the season.<br />
