Applying—Choose AUR
We invite you to become a member of our community of
learners in The Eternal City.
Please submit the following to complete your application
(refer to our website for details):
• Online application form at www.aur.edu/apply
• Official copy of high school transcript;
• One academic recommendation
(from a teacher or counselor);
• Official copy of your university transcript(s) -
for transfer students only;
• SAT or ACT scores —for high school students
graduating from a US-style school (in the United States
or abroad);
• 500-word statement (see website for details);
• 250-word essay on one of three topics
(see website for topics);
• English Language Proficiency;
• Non-refundable application fee (see website for
details).
Financing Your AUR Education
AUR is committed to providing an affordable university
experience for students who value a high-quality, multicultural,
intimate-scale education.
Choosing to study in Rome is comparable to, or lower
than, the cost of a private university education in the
United States or elsewhere.
U.S. citizens and permanent residents should complete
the FAFSA to be considered for Federal Direct Stafford
and Federal Direct PLUS Loan programs.
Merit Scholarships
Merit scholarships are awarded solely on the basis of
outstanding academic achievement without regard to
financial need, race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation,
disability, veteran/Reserve/National Guard Status
or natural origin. The scholarships range from €2,500
to €5,000 per academic year. For a list of the criteria

AUR Scholarships
We encourage all students to apply for an AUR Scholarship
as we consider candidates based on major, grade
point average, financial need and SAT or ACT scores (or
the equivalent), as well as special skills and talents that
they will bring to AUR. For more information and to apply

Student Assistantships
Students may also apply for Assistantships which are
work study positions with administrators or faculty at
