Professor Zinder, an award-winning film and
video maker, has taught Media Production,
Studies, and Screenwriting in the United States
and Italy for over fifteen years. His short documentaries
Uno degli Ultimi (One of the Last) and
Benedizione delle Bestie (Benediction of the
Beasts) screen at over 40 International film festivals
from 2008 – 2011 and won eight awards.
Professor Zinder’s years of filmmaking experience
continue to shape his teaching philosophy
and his supervision of senior capstone projects.
Goals for Our Graduates
Graduates of our degree programs possess excellent writing,
analytical and critical-thinking skills. They are able to use the
tools and technology of media production and information
literacy skills. With these skills they live and work successfully
in a world defined by diversity, intercultural relationships, and
fast-paced and ever-changing means of communication.
Writing and art are essential to a
liberal arts education and AUR’s
Literary journal, Remus, provides
an opportunity for AUR students to
express themselves creatively and offers
them the opportunity to graduate
from AUR as published writers.
Professor Zinder’s writing has been published
in the cult television anthologies Investigating
Veronica Mars; Essays on the Teen Television
Series by McFarland in 2011 and Investigating
Alias: Secrets and Spies by I.B. Tauris in 2007.

My grandparents are Italian and I always
wanted to learn more about Italian culture
and language. AUR has been the perfect
choice for me because of its location in the
heart of Rome, its multi-cultural staff, faculty
and student body and its Communication
program.
I love the intimate atmosphere on campus.
And my professors have proven to be of
the highest quality.
