Professor Fitzsimmons spent 15 years in management
and marketing at Time Inc. in New
York and at Playtex Italia in Rome after earning
her MBA at Harvard. A hallmark of her teaching
style is the ability to bring this “real-world”
experience into the classroom to exemplify and
enliven business concepts and models.
Professor Fitzsimmons has led the development
of six concentrations and a number of interdisciplinary
programs in the business curriculum
at AUR, serves as advisor to the AUR Business
Club and AUR Campus Girl Scouts and directs
the AUR Careers & Internship Office. She is the
Chair of USA Girl Scouts Overseas – Rome and
oversees the location’s management team.

Goals for Our Students
Diversity is a touchstone of our program. We foster an
appreciation of cultural, linguistic, ethnic and managerial
diversity. Our graduates are ready to begin their careers in
business in the fields of marketing, finance, manufacturing,
sales, advertising and management, and are comfortable
working in either American or international settings. Our
degree also provides a firm foundation for MBA graduate study.
I decided to study internationally for a different
and exciting undergraduate experience.
I chose AUR for its location in Rome and its
business program.
I transferred from a college in New York because
AUR offers many opportunities to study
elsewhere, including Shanghai where I will
study this summer. It has a diverse international
student body and faculty. All of these things
drew me to AUR where I have had an amazing
experience.
