A doctor’s referral is not necessary. Women aged 50-69 are especially encouraged to attend every two years as the biggest risk factor for breast cancer is age with 70% of all breast cancer diagnosed in women over the age of 50. Parking is available and this service is located next door to the Red Cross Blood Service, access via Queens Park Road. TTY and interpreter services are available for women with special needs. A satellite service is available at Hervey Bay and rural areas are serviced every two years by the Breastscreen Queensland Wide Bay Service mobile Service.
