to grandparents. Information can be<br />

of fact sheets . Grandparents can<br />

be supported to contact services<br />

in their local <strong>community</strong>. We fund<br />

activities for grandchildren who are<br />

being raised by their grandparents<br />

and are not being supported by the<br />

Department of Child Safety and do<br />

week-end camps for grand families.<br />

Family Support Service has been<br />

Services are provided for families<br />

with children 0-16 years. If you are<br />

feeling isolated, in crisis, needing<br />

extra support or information on<br />

issues relating to families, the Child<br />

and Family Support Co-ordinator<br />

can speak with you by phone, at<br />

the centre, or in your home/service.<br />

Programs offered are Playgroup, Toy<br />

Library, Resource Books, Australian<br />

Breastfeeding Meetings and the<br />

Service Description: Let’s Read is<br />

a program designed to encourage<br />

parents to have fun reading with their<br />

divided into 2 parts: Community<br />

Based Professionals who are trained<br />

Education in all aspects of parenting<br />

including drug education, general<br />

parenting skills, general counselling<br />

designed to equip parents and<br />

caregivers to effectively and<br />

appropriately care for their children.<br />

This function is funded by the Dept of<br />

Child Safety and priority is given to<br />

Dept of Child Safety clients.<br />

Waarvah Programme - Waarvah is a<br />

crime prevention, early intervention<br />

programme for indigenous male<br />

youth from 10-17 years of age. This<br />

programme focuses on restoring<br />

cultural values, practices and<br />

standards as part of rebuilding<br />

the young persons identity as a<br />

proud indigenous person. This<br />

programme is funded by the Dept of<br />

Communities.<br />
