Service Description: We were granted<br />

our first temporary <strong>community</strong> radio<br />

license for this region in 2002. We<br />

have a temporary license and this is<br />

renewed in March each year.<br />

We broadcast a radio service to<br />

our <strong>community</strong> 24 hours per day.<br />

12 hours of live presentation by<br />

local presenters - this will soon<br />

be extended to 24 hours when we<br />

receive our satellite. We do not<br />

share our frequency with any other<br />

organisation.<br />

<strong>Bundaberg</strong> Community Radio<br />

(trading as 96.3 FM) is a non profit<br />

organization and totally relies on<br />

volunteers to operate and manage<br />

the station. Membership is open<br />

to all people in our <strong>community</strong>.<br />

Members come from a wide variety<br />

of nationalities and range in age from<br />

14 to 80. They travel from all parts<br />

of the district to train and present a<br />

selection of music from all walks of<br />

life.<br />

We have an ABN number and are<br />

registered for GST. Our studio<br />

is located at Unit 8, <strong>Bundaberg</strong><br />

Enterprise Centre, Cnr Quay and<br />

Tantitha Streets, <strong>Bundaberg</strong>.<br />

Our transmitter is located at The<br />

Hummock.<br />

We assist non-profit organizations<br />

in our <strong>community</strong> by broadcasting<br />

regular notices and announcements<br />

of upcoming events, fund raising<br />

activities, meetings, training and<br />

awareness programs, and conduct<br />

interviews with many of these<br />

organizations.<br />

We also broadcast <strong>community</strong> service<br />

announcements under arrangements<br />

with the following: Queensland<br />

Police; Queensland Transport;<br />

Queensland Health and Cancer<br />

Fund; Blind Dog Association; RSPCA;<br />

St Vincent De Paul; Queensland<br />

Ambulance and Queensland Fire<br />

Service.<br />

We promote and participate in many<br />

<strong>community</strong> functions, festivals, fetes,<br />

fairs, etc. to promote our activities<br />

and services.<br />

We receive grants assistance for the<br />

acquisition of major capital assets,<br />

but rely on our fundraising and<br />

sponsorships to cover running costs<br />

of our growing station.<br />

provides networking between support<br />

groups, <strong>community</strong> groups, local<br />

council and government agencies.<br />
