The Role of Agencies Agencies will need to integrate information management into their strategic planning, particularly in relation to future privacy legislation. Agencies will also need to recognise the value of the information and knowledge in their possession, not just with respect to use by their own agency, but also with respect to the potential value that information and knowledge may have to others. 2010 Vision • The information and knowledge in the possession of agencies is used to greatest value in delivering services to the community. • Citizens have trust and confidence that government is collecting, using and disclosing their information in a manner which is consistent, secure and ethical and which respects privacy. 45
