7.2 Single-Ended Measurement Reference<br />

Low-level single-ended voltage measurements are sensitive to ground potential<br />

fluctuations. Although the <strong>CR200</strong>(X) is not sensitive enough for low-level<br />

measurements and ground potential fluctuations are not usually a problem, the<br />

grounding scheme in the <strong>CR200</strong>(X) has been designed to eliminate ground<br />

potential fluctuations due to changing return currents from SW Battery,<br />

excitation channels, and the control ports. This is accomplished by utilizing<br />

separate signal and shield grounds ( ) and power grounds (G). To take<br />

advantage of this design, observe the following grounding rule:<br />

Note Always connect a device's ground next to the active terminal associated<br />

with that ground. Several ground wires can be connected to<br />

the same ground terminal.<br />
