National Cultural Celebration 2010 

22 to 24 October 2010 

Under the perpetual divine guidance & blessing of His 

Holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi Ji and under the 

able leadership and guidance of Brahmachari Girish 

Ji, Hon’ble Chairman, National Board of Directors, 

Maharishi Vidya Mandir Schools Group, three-day 

Maharishi National Cultural Celebration 2010 was 

organised and hosted by Maharishi Vidya Mandir, 

Hyderabad from 22 to 24 October 2010.

Director A&T; Dr. T. C. Pathak, Director CPR, Maj. Gen. Gautam Kumar Sahney, Regional

Parampara Pujan on the occasion of Inaugural function.

region was the Chief Guest of the inaugural ceremony 

and it was presided by Dr. Prakash Joshi, Vice- 

President, Maharishi Shiksha Sansthan, India. Prof. 

G. Haragopal, Director Centre for Human Rights, 

University of Hyderabad was also present as the Guest of Honour. Members of National Board of Directors, 

Maharishi Vidya Mandir Schools Brig. G. S. Sandhu, Director (P&A), Shri M. S. Solanki, Director (A&T), 

Dr. T. C. Pathak, Director Communication and Public Relations, Major Gen. Gautam Kumar Sahney, 

Regional Director, Hyderabad Region, Mrs. Vasanthy Parasuraman, Principal, Maharishi Vidya Mandir, 

Hyderabad, number of other MVM school principals and 

Thousands of students, parents, staff and teachers were 

present to witness the Inaugural ceremony of National 

Cultural Celebration 2010. The programme started with 

Pujan of Vedic Guru Parampara, Vedic Chanting and 

lighting the lamp-Deep Prajwalan. 

Brahmachari Girish Ji, Hon’ble Chairman, National 

Board of Directors, Maharishi Vidya Mandir Schools 

Group, has graced and blessed the occasion all three days 

in Maharishi National Cultural Celebration at Hyderabad 

by witnessing the programme on www.ramrajtv.com and

through Skype. The whole cultural celebration this year was web cast on www.ramrajtv.com and was seen world 

wide. 

Dr. T. C. Pathak, Director Communication and Public 

Relations MVMs Schools in his introductory and welcome 

address said “His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi Ji, the 

most dedicated disciple to Shri Guru Dev Swami 

Brahmanand Saraswati Ji, Jagadguru Shankaracharya of 

Jyotishpeeth, Badrikashram, Himalayas, was widely regarded 

as the Foremost Scientist in the field of consciousness, and 

is established to be the greatest teacher in the world history. 

Dr. T. C. Pathak, Director Communication and Public Relations MVMs Schools giving his 

introductory and welcome address on the occasion of Maharishi National Cultural 

Celebration. 

“Fifty-three years ago Maharishi Ji’s infinite love drew him 

out of isolation in the Himalayas to relieve the world from 

suffering, to provide people joy and peace and to create 

Heaven on Earth. 

Maharishi Ji has completely restored thousands of years old scattered Vedic Literature for the total significance 

of its theory and practice and has organized it in the form of a complete science of consciousness. Maharishi’s 

Vedic Science and Technology unfolds the full potential of Natural Law in human consciousness as the basis of 

improving all areas of life. The Transcendental Meditation programme, the subjective technology of Maharishi’s 

Vedic Science and Technology is the most widely practiced and extensively researched programme of selfdevelopment 

in the world. 

“The Purpose of Education is to make a man orderly within himself as well as an orderly unit of his family, his 

society, his nation and the world.” 

“Through Consciousness Based—Atma Based, system of Ideal Education, life everywhere will be ideal. No 

one will make mistakes, no one will violate the Laws of Nature and no one will suffer. Life will be long and 

happy and the individual and society will rise to immortality.” 

Dr. Pathak added “With this objective in last 53 years, Maharishi Ji has established a worldwide Movement in 

over 100 Counties offering the Knowledge and practical programmes of Maharishi Vedic Science in all areas of 

life. Maharishi Ji has founded large number of organizations and Institutions to bring the light of Vedic wisdom 

throughout the world. These organizations and institutions include Maharishi Vedic Universities, Maharishi Ayurved 

Universities, Maharishi University of Management & Technology, Schools, Colleges, Institutes, Vidyapeeths 

and TM Centers. Millions of people in all parts of the 

world and from all walks of life are associated with 

Maharishi’s world wide movement”. 

Dr. Pathak said that “The aim of Maharishi National 

Cultural Meet is to identify & enhance the talent of 

students in various disciplines and to develop deep roots 

of national integration and nurture the seed of united world 

family – Vasudhevkutumbakam the whole world is my 

family, which will ultimately lead to world unity and world 

peace”.

“during the three days Maharishi National Cultural Celebration this year, 450 students of Maharishi Vidya 

Mandir Schools from 16 states and 7 regions with 150 students from MVM Hyderabad are participating in the 

programme. Main cultural activities would comprise solo song and group song and dance competition (senior 

and junior),, debate, quiz, on spot painting competition and Science and Mathematics Exhibition”. 

Shri M. S. Solanki added that “on this occasion “Best Principal Award” in the category of Senior Secondary 

and Secondary Schools with running trophy and cash incentives for their outstanding contributions in the field of 

Education and Development of their schools will be awarded to the selected Principals of Maharishi Vidya 

Mandir schools. The same way the best teachers will also be awarded and honoured. The Best school student 

in each category (Junior and Senior) is also selected and will be awarded on this occasion”. 

Dr. Prakash Chandra Joshi in his address said that 

“MVM Schools Group has been honoured with a very 

special award of the year 2009. Distinguished 

Educational Institution Award - 2009 was presented 

to Maharishi Vidya Mandir Schools Group by 

Federation of Educational Publishers in India, Delhi.

Dr. Joshi joyfully mentioned that Mrs. Vasanthy 

Parasuraman, Principal of Maharishi Vidya Mandir, 

Hyderabad, was awarded the CBSE Teachers Award 

for the year 2009. The award was presented by Shri 

Kapil Sibal, Hon’ble Union Minister of Human Resource 

Development, Government of India in the presence of 

Smt. D. Purandeswari, Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Human Resource Development, Govt. of India. 

The function was attended by Shri Vineet Joshi, Chairman, CBSE, besides other CBSE officials at a function 

held at India International Centre, New Delhi on 4th September 2010 on the eve of Teachers’ Day Celebration. 

Dr. Joshi added “Students of Maharishi Vidya Mandir Schools have won several states, national and international 

awards in the field of academics, sports, athletics, dance, drama, music, debates etc. Hundreds of students have 

gained success and have been selected in national level entrance tests; such as Indian Institute of Technology, 

Indian Institute of Management, Pre-Engineering Test, Common Admission Test, Central Pre-Medical Test, 

National Defense Academy, Sainik Schools, Institute of Chartered Accountant, National Law University, Indian 

Institute of Information Technology etc”. 

Hon’ble Chairman, Maharishi Vidya Mandir Schools, Brahmachari Girish Ji, in his address at the occasion 

said that “the comprehensive success and achievement of the individual is possible by virtue of the all-directional 

performance of Natural Law, which works for him by 

virtue of his fully awake, fully alert, self-referral 

consciousness- the level of the total creative potential of 

Natural Law, the greatest, most complete administration, 

which governs the ever-evolving, ever-progressive 

universe with perfect precision and order. This is only 

possible when we align with the laws of nature, which 

are at the basis of our own intelligence. This will lead to 

automation in administration. We have learnt this from 

our Master Maharishi Mahesh Yogi Ji.

100,000 students have proven mastery in every field.

As Maharishi Ji always uses to say, gain mastery over natural law and you can do everything. Over 100,000 

students, 6000 Teaching and support staff at 16 states of India, Maharishi Vidya Mandir students are demonstrating 

it in practice with perpetual blessings of Maharishi Ji. 

He also invited all the students and youth to join 

Maharishi Global Organisation for Maharishi Master 

Management Programme and be a part of the fleet as 

future top executive of Maharishi’s World-Wide 

Movement. 

I would like to have transcription of my address. Some 

things are mentioned here, which I did not say. 

Shri N Nagaraju, Regional Officer, CBSE Chennai region, Chief Guest of Maharishi 

National Cultural Celebration 2010 addressing on the occasion of inaugural ceremony. 

“Cultural Meet is the best medium for the students of 

various states with different cultural and languages to 

learn and interact with each other and comprehend the 

value of nationalism and unity”, Hon’ble Chief Guest Shri 

N Nagaraju, Regional Officer, CBSE Chennai 

region, expressed these views during the inaugural ceremony of the three-day Maharishi National Cultural 

Celebration 2010. 

He also added that Maharishi Vidya Mandir Schools Group in CBSE Chennai Region is known as the best 

performing schools. 

Prof. G. Haragopal, Director Centre for Human 

Rights, University of Hyderabad in his address said 

that “Childhood is the foundation stone upon which stands 

the whole life structure. The seed sown in childhood 

blossoms into the tree of life. The education which is 

imparted in childhood is more important than the education, 

which is received in colleges and Universities. In the 

process of human growth, proper guidance along with 

environmental learning is important. 

The cultural fest began with the group dance competition 

of senior students (girls) from different states who displayed 

their region’s famous folk dances in colourful attires.

The students of MVM Shornur presented the famous 

Kathakalli dance of Kerala. The other event conducted 

on the first day were group dance (senior and junior), 

group song (senior and junior), on spot painting 

competition, preparation of Science & Math’s exhibition 

and quiz competition. 

The second day of Maharishi National Cultural 

Celebration 2010 was full of action and students from 

various schools displayed their skills in different 

competitions but the day belonged to the participants of 

Guwahati region who gave tough competition to their 

counterparts and emerged as triumphant.

Special Police Force said that Maharishi Mahesh Yogi 

Ji’s message of Transcendental Meditation has crossed 

national boundaries and has inspired the people of over 

124 countries of the world. He said Maharishi Ji’s message 

will always motivate the students and he hoped that they 

would ensure India’s leadership in all fields at global 

platform. 

Science and Math’s exhibition was inaugurated by

Relations, Maharishi Vidya Mandir Group of Schools. 

The three-day Maharishi National Cultural Celebration-2010, completed on October 24. The valedictory function 

was presided by Dr. Prakash Joshi, Vice-President, Maharishi Shiksha Sansthan, India. Special Guests on the 

occasion were members of National Board of Directors, Maharishi Vidya Mandir Schools Group Brig. G. S. 

Sandhu, Shri M. S. Solanki, Dr. T. C. Pathak, and Major Gen. Gautam Kumar Sahney, Regional Director, 

Hyderabad Region. The valedictory function commenced with Gurupujan and welcoming of guest. 

On this occasion Major Gen. Sahney, said “Maharishi Ji has worked tirelessly to open the gate of enlightenment 

to every individual and to crown every nation with invincibilitywith 

Peace, Prosperity and Happiness, free from negativity 

and suffering.” 

In his valedictory address Brig. G. S. Sandhu, said 

“Maharishi Mahesh Yogi Ji, the founder of Consciousness 

Based Education, and the Transcendental Meditation and 

TM-Sidhi Programme has given simple, natural and highly 

effective technique to systematically unfold the latent 

potential of every individual. With the technique Maharishi 

Ji also gave the Science of Creative Intelligence (SCI), the 

complete principles of life into the educational system to make 

learning meaningful, relevant, intimate, and exhilarating”. 

Major Gen. Gautam Kumar Sahney, Regional Director, Hyderabad Region addressing 

on the occasion of Maharishi National Cultural Celebration. 

Various dances & performances were given by the students of MVM schools. Later, winners of various 

competitions were awarded by the Members of National Board of Directors, MVM Schools Group, India. 

Maharishi Vidya Mandir MVM-I Jabalpur bagged the 

first prize and MVM-II Guwahati won second prize in 

Group Dance Senior. Similarly in Group Dance Junior 

Maharishi Vidya Mandir Shornur won first prize and 

MVM-IV Guwahati won second prize. In Group Song 

Senior MVM-I Bilaspur won the first prize & MVM 

Maharishi Nagar won the second prize. Similarly, the 

Group Song (junior group) won by MVM–II Jabalpur, 

while MVM Maharishi Nagar won second prize.

won by MVM Seoni. 

For the Instrumental Percussion-Senior, MVM Tangla got 

the first prize and the second prize was won by MVM Shajapur. For the Instrumental Percussion-Junior, MVM 

Ranibagh got the first prize and the second prize was won by MVM-I Jabalpur. 

In Science exhibition senior, Harsh Deshmukh student 

of MVM Balaghat got the first prize and Nikhil Shinde, 

student of MVM Bhandara got the second prize. 

In Maths exhibition senior, S. P. Ganeshan of MVM-I 

Guwahati got the first prize and Arnav Sharma, of 

MVM-I Jabalpur got the second prize. 

In G. K. Quiz Senior Mridugunjan Deka, Anushikh 

Goswami and Dhrubajyoti Das of MVM-I Guwahati 

got the first prize and M. V. S. N. Bharat, R. Hemendra 

Prasad Reddy & D. Sai Sanhita of MVM Hyderabad 

got the second prize. 

In drawing and painting competition, MVM Guwahati 

region again showed their skills and won the first prize while MVM Ratanpur Bhopal & MVM Chhattarpur got

PIN 462018). Hard copy should be neatly typed (“Times New Roman” font for English and “Devnagri” or 

“Chanakya” font for Hindi) and should be sent to above-mentioned address. High quality/resolution pictures 

and graphics will be very useful to make your report better looking and will be much interesting for readers.
