OVERVIEW<br />

<strong>FY</strong> <strong>2010</strong> Major Recommended Activities <strong>and</strong> Changes<br />

• Implement the Comprehensive Security Program with improved services <strong>and</strong> activities to serve the Authority<br />

• Continue to provide support to the Office of Risk Management in the oversight of the Rolling Owner-Controlled Insurance<br />

Program (ROCIP) <strong>and</strong> the Comprehensive Construction Safety Program<br />

• Investigate, evaluate <strong>and</strong> analyze all accidents, occupational injuries <strong>and</strong> incidents to ensure that effective corrective <strong>and</strong><br />

preventive measures are in place<br />

• Ongoing development of management reporting of <strong>DC</strong> WASA safety performance <strong>and</strong> benchmarking against national peers<br />

<strong>and</strong> obtain compliance with the nationally recognized National Incident Management System (NIMS)<br />

• Continue to coordinate all <strong>DC</strong> WASA's emergency response planning <strong>and</strong> related activities with the District of Columbia <strong>and</strong><br />

the Metropolitan Washington Council of Government (COG) regional emergency planning teams<br />

• Continue to provide safety guidance for capital improvement projects: review designs <strong>and</strong> perform safety inspections during<br />

project construction<br />

• Continue to provide oversight for the driver training program<br />

• Complete implementation of the automated security systems identified within <strong>DC</strong> WASA's Capital Improvement Program (CIP)<br />

• Establish <strong>and</strong> implement a plan of action for the effective management, oversight <strong>and</strong> maintenance of existing <strong>and</strong> new<br />

security systems<br />

• Continue to modify the security guard contract to better meet <strong>DC</strong> WASA's safety <strong>and</strong> security needs <strong>and</strong> objectives<br />

• Finalize <strong>and</strong> implement a <strong>DC</strong> WASA P<strong>and</strong>emic Flu Action Plan<br />
